In Ayurveda, everything - including you - is made up of 5 elements: Space, air, fire, water, and earth. These elements combine to form the three doshas or mind-body types:

🌬️ Vata (space + air): light, mobile, and creative. Vata people tend to be energetic and creative but may struggle with anxiety or feeling ungrounded.
🔥 Pitta (fire + water): Sharp, focused, and driven. Pitta types are natural leaders but can overheat easily - physically and emotionally - leading to irritability or infalmmation.
🌱 Kapha (earth + water): Steady, nurturing, and calm. Kapha people are grounded and loving but may experience sluggishness, heaviness, or resistance to change.

In Ayurveda, doshas help you understand your tendencies, strenghts, so that you can use foods and implement routines that help you harmonize the imbalances you might be feeling.

What is "somato-emotional release"?

This is a process that helps the body let go of stored emotional tension that it is usually held in the tissues. It can happen during any type of bodywork like massage, sound healing, or reiki, but it is more common during advanced craniosacral therapy sessions.

The body and its inner inteligence know when it is safe to bring certain things to the surface. Sometimes that looks like old emotions, memories, or sensations. The process is not always comfortable (I would say it usually is uncomfortable and raw), but it is part of the release. It is your system choosing to let go so you can move into a deeper layer of healing. Once that takes place, comfort and lightness follow.

🤲🏼 Ayurveda is the oldest healing system in the world. This science originated in India and dates back 3000 BC. The word Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that means "science of life". Its main purpose is to prevent disease, heal disease when it expresses itself in the body or mind, and aid in helping people age with grace.

✨ The premise of this science rests on the belief that the Universe is part of us and we are part of the Universe; everyone holds a Universe within. With this knowledge it is understood that in order to achieve the highest level of good health, people have to find a way to be in balance with their world within, and without. This balance is found when the connection with Self is achieved.

🙏🏼 One way of connecting with Self is through silence. Another way of connecting is through feeling sensations and emotions. Feeling sensations allows us to recognize what is happening in the body, which in turn can help us take the steps needed to give the body what it needs. Feeling emotions (truly feeling them without intellectualizing them) can lead to a sense of openness, freedom and ligthness, which in turn allows you to become more centered in your true Self. Someone at peace.

Ayurveda uses, diet, lifestyle, routine, and bodywork/energy work to help bring you back inside, within, where YOU have all the answers.

What is Craniosacral Therapy (CST)?

✨ CST is a gentle hands-on therapy that works with the nervous system to help your body unwind tension from within. On a physical level, it can ease things like headaches, jaw tension, tight shoulders, or fatigue by releasing subtle restrictions in the tissues.

But CST goes deeper than that. Our bodies store emotional experiences like grief, stress, and uncomfortable situations. Over time, that emotional weight can show up as physical pain or disconnection. CST creates a quiet and safe space for your body to speak and for you to listen, and help release what it's been holding.

It is subtle work, but can be immensely powerful. In my pesonal experience, the healing I have reached with CST can only be compared with spiritual awakenings that translate into life shifting.

The Neverending Re-Discovering

WholeHeartedly was born out of a desire to bring awareness about Ayurveda, and how this complete healing system can help us achieve a better, healthier quality of life.

Ayurveda for me, is a lifestyle. It can encompass all aspects of my experience, from taking care of my body, allowing my mind to relax, and giving my spirit a space to be one with all. Of course, this type of perfection does not happen all the time, but I strive for it, so I continue to pursue it. At the end of the day, I am just looking for (and finding again and again) that space within myself that holds happiness and bliss. Let’s go on this path together!
