Ever wonder what we’re looking at when we’re not looking straight down at you? 😄

We use Ergo loupes in our practice, which let us work in a more upright, natural posture instead of hunching over all day. It’s a game-changer for protecting our neck and back while still seeing every detail clearly.

For patients, this often means a more comfortable experience, less “hovering” directly over you, and more open communication during treatment.

Patients notice it right away—and it usually turns into a fun conversation about how dentistry is evolving for better ergonomics and long-term health.

At Northstar Dental, we see kids starting around age 2 (sometimes even a little earlier) for what we call a “happy visit.”

The idea is simple—make the dentist a fun, relaxed place so kids feel good coming back.

They get to check out the dental chair, meet “Mr. Thirsty” (our suction), try the “squirt gun” (air/water syringe), and if they’re up for it, we’ll do a gentle cleaning and exam.

And yes… there’s always a stop at the secret toy cabinet at the end 🎁
