The purpose of Jade Woman de LaLonde, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt corporation, is exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, more specifically to help others by promoting healing, health and wellbeing through training and treatment using the nature based theory of Chinese Medicine at an affordable cost to the patients and clients. Inspiration for founding Jade Woman de LaLo

nde and this goal came in part from Richard Louv. In his book, "Last Child in the Woods" he states "the child in nature is an endangered species and the health of children and the health of the Earth are inseparable." Judi Terrill, Founder and Executive Director of Jade Woman de LaLonde, Inc, is the mastermind behind the entire organization. She has eighteen years of experience as a Chinese Medicine Professional. With nature as her basis and guide, Ms. Terrill developed a unique Five Element model to diagnose and treat children, parents, families and other adults. This nature based art form of the medicine uses elements in nature, specifically, water, wood, fire, earth and metal to identify the individual characteristics, needs and best environment for healthy development and wellbeing. Treatment focuses on the entire being, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. She has often helped both children and adults that Western Medicine has been unsuccessful diagnosing and treating. In addition to her experience and expertise in Chinese Medicine practice, teaching and program development, Ms. Terrill had an extensive career in Corporate America as a Corporate Executive and Officer in Finance, Management and Administration.

Happy Arbor Day! 🌳 The day we honor and celebrate trees!

From backyards to tropical rain forests to nearby woods— trees around the world are hard at work providing support for our health and well-being.

🌳 Trees remove pollutants from the atmosphere, improving air quality. Through photosynthesis, trees take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen.
🌳 Several studies have shown that a view of trees can reduce stress at work and even speed up healing times for hospital patients.
🌳 Trees provide protection from the sun and wind.
🌳 Forested watersheds absorb water from rain and runoff, filter it and then refill underground aquifers that are used for drinking water. Absorption of rain also prevents soil erosion.
🌳 Trees lower surface and air temperatures by providing shade and releasing water v***r into the air through their leaves.
🌳 Trees provide vital habitat and important species range for a wide variety of birds, insects, and animals, some endangered.

April 22nd is Earth Day! 🌏

Remember, "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” ~ Chief Seattle

Earth Day is a time to honor our planet and raise awareness of growing concerns. With two generations raised indoors, looking at screens day and night — it’s time to get outside, back into nature to appreciate what we’re missing and may be losing within ourselves and the environment.

The future of the earth and the future of our children are one and the same — keeping them both balanced, healthy, and thriving should be everyone’s goal. 🌎

April Rain Song

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain
~Langston Hughes

A wet day and a dry day have very different sounds, smells, and sights. Keeping children inside when it’s raining limits their experience of the world. There’s so much joy to be had listening to the splash a puddle makes when it’s jumped in.

And she stopped...
and she heard what
the trees said to her,
And she sat there for hours
not wanting to leave,
For the forest said nothing,
it just let her breathe.

Fostering a love for nature in children is one of the greatest gifts we can offer. Simple activities like rock collecting, skipping stones, leaf pressing, or just letting them dig in the dirt can nurture curiosity, creativity, resilience and a lifelong love of the outdoors.

Eco-therapy isn’t just a trend — it’s a time-tested way to support mental and emotional health. Whether it’s walking in a forest, gardening, or simply resting under a tree, nature has been shown to reduce anxiety, depression, and even PTSD symptoms.

Now is the perfect time to plant seeds, flowers, vegetables, or trees with your children. They love digging and getting their hands dirty. Getting back to nature is very important for children. It helps them to feel calm, focused, and relaxed, while developing their curiosity, and endless conversations.

Children involved with gardening or tree-planting learn patience and the pay-off of continuous effort, interdependency of eco-systems, respect for life, and a sense of achievement.

Screen-Free Sunday! Leave the screens at home and head for the hills, woods, coast, or a park — find nature! 🌿

Neuroscientist Gayathri J. Dowling PhD has studied the MRIs of 15,000 children. She determined a significant difference in the brains of children who use smartphones, tablets, and video games more than seven hours a day. Results show a premature thinning of the cortex: the outermost layer of the brain that processes information from the five senses.

This can be turned around. Children need to engage with each other in play, specifically outdoor play in nature. All five senses are engaged while in nature, which stimulates learning, curiosity, and creativity.

WOOD is the Element of Spring!

The aggressive, forceful energy of Wood is most obvious in the season of Spring, when the buds swell to bursting and the seeds sprout into tender shoots that, against all odds, push their way through the earth to burst into vigorous life.

The Chinese believe that the Five Elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water govern all physical, emotional, and spiritual existence. An excess or deficiency in any one of these forces can powerfully affect physical health and emotional well-being.

Jade Kids pediatric clinics provide assessments of a child's health and well-being. Once diagnosed, treatment techniques include Acupuncture, Acupressure, Meridian Therapy, and Tui Na (Chinese medical massage). Parents are taught how to apply certain techniques on a daily basis to further facilitate their child's healing and growth.

March 21st is International Day of Forests or World Forestry Day

You’re never too young to learn about trees. Helping children connect with nature creates future generations conscious of the benefits of trees and forests, and the need to manage them sustainably. Forests will be more important than ever as the world population climbs to 8.5 billion by 2030.

Head into the woods with your children - it will benefit everyone, including the trees. 🌳
