The purpose of Jade Woman de LaLonde, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt corporation, is exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, more specifically to help others by promoting healing, health and wellbeing through training and treatment using the nature based theory of Chinese Medicine at an affordable cost to the patients and clients. Inspiration for founding Jade Woman de LaLonde and this goal came in part from Richard Louv. In his book, "Last Child in the Woods" he states "the child in nature is an endangered species and the health of children and the health of the Earth are inseparable." Judi Terrill, Founder and Executive Director of Jade Woman de LaLonde, Inc, is the mastermind behind the entire organization. She has eighteen years of experience as a Chinese Medicine Professional. With nature as her basis and guide, Ms. Terrill developed a unique Five Element model to diagnose and treat children, parents, families and other adults. This nature based art form of the medicine uses elements in nature, specifically, water, wood, fire, earth and metal to identify the individual characteristics, needs and best environment for healthy development and wellbeing. Treatment focuses on the entire being, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. She has often helped both children and adults that Western Medicine has been unsuccessful diagnosing and treating. In addition to her experience and expertise in Chinese Medicine practice, teaching and program development, Ms. Terrill had an extensive career in Corporate America as a Corporate Executive and Officer in Finance, Management and Administration.

August is the bridge between Summer and Autumn — between how the year has been and how the year will end.

School is in session! Summer fun in the sun has been replaced with long hours of studying indoors. Use every opportunity possible to get your children outdoors to enjoy the brisk breeze and changing leaves. 🍂

All studies show that children need outside play and discovery — it sharpens the senses and the mind, reduces depression and anxiety, burns excess energy, and aids in sleep. Nature is rich in sensory input, and spending time outdoors naturally engages a child’s senses without any effort.

Don’t let the change in season, or a school schedule, stop you from enjoying the outdoors!

As the new school year begins…

Don't educate your children to be rich. Educate them to be happy, so when they grow up they will know the value of things, not the price. ~ Victor Hugo

As children head back to school, remember this —

"Environment-based education produces student gains in social studies, science, language arts, and math; improves standardized test scores and grade-point averages; and develops skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making."
~ Richard Louv

Bringing the classroom to nature and nature to the classroom is an enormous task, and educators need community and political support. Schools, businesses and outdoor organizations can work together to introduce students to nature centers and parks, and sponsor or promote overnight camping trips. Parent-teacher groups can raise financial support for field trips and nature programs; they can sponsor family nature nights at schools; they can give awards to those teachers who get their students outside.

Make it a priority to educate children about the environment around them. They are our future leaders and policy makers.

Most children are now back in school, hitting the books and staring at screens. They’ll have homework and extracurricular activities, maybe clubs, sports or band practice. Be sure to maintain balance between school and time spent outdoors.

NATURE is the ultimate relaxation therapy. Experiencing the sounds, sights, smells, textures, and even taste of nature, engages senses not achievable indoors. Climbing over rocks, walking across fallen logs, or wading through streams, requires motor function and balance not used indoors.

Studies have proven time and time again that psychological and physical health improves for children when they spend time outdoors on a regular basis. Every child thrives in nature! 🌿

As the new school year begins, remember this: today’s kids spend up to 44 hours per week in front of screens and less than 20 minutes a day outdoors. It's up to you to dedicate some time in nature for your children.

There's no app for that. 🌿 We believe that nature makes kids healthier, happier, and smarter.

Children won't remember their best day of watching television. Before the new school-year begins — get outside, get sweaty, get dirty, get wet, and make some memories with your kids!
