With nature as her basis and guide, Ms. Terrill developed a unique Five Element model to diagnose and treat children, parents, families and other adults. This nature based art form of the medicine uses elements in nature, specifically, water, wood, fire, earth and metal to identify the individual characteristics, needs and best environment for healthy development and wellbeing. Treatment focuses on the entire being, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. She has often helped both children and adults that Western Medicine has been unsuccessful diagnosing and treating. In addition to her experience and expertise in Chinese Medicine practice, teaching and program development, Ms. Terrill had an extensive career in Corporate America as a Corporate Executive and Officer in Finance, Management and Administration.

In the midst of winter,
I found there was, within me,
an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy.
For it says that no matter how hard t
he world pushes against me, within me,
there’s something stronger –
something better, pushing right back.

Today's children spend between three and eight hours a day looking at screens, depending on their age, and less than forty minutes a day outside in the fresh air and sunshine. And, more often than not, it's during school recess on asphalt and play structures.

Studies have shown that children engaged with natural environments have less stress, healthier relationships, and pay better attention in school. It’s time to unplug.

The number of children with myopia (nearsightedness) has been growing rapidly in the USA, due to their dependence and constant interaction with handheld devices. Using their young, developing eyes to only focus at arm’s length, they lose the ability to focus any further, causing myopia.

Take your children outside to watch a sunrise or sunset, follow a trail in search of wildflowers and/or wildlife, go birdwatching, watch the moonrise, chase butterflies, explore forests and fields — there are so many wonders of nature to witness beyond arm’s length!

We hope you include more nature in your plans for the new year! 🌿

Winter is not a season, it’s a celebration! Happy Winter Solstice! 🌞

Chinese Medicine is deeply rooted in the philosophy of the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each element is associated with a specific season, and winter is aligned with the Water element. 💦

Rain, snow and ice beg us to slow down, be cautious and conserve our energy. Just as animals hibernate and plants go dormant, we too can benefit from a period of inward reflection and self-care. Adequate sleep, relaxation, and meditation are excellent practices to support our physical and emotional well-being during winter. ❄️
