Happy birthday, Jamie!!! Oh how we love and appreciate our amazing acupuncturist, Jamie Holland. He loves his chickens, gardening projects, meditation, reading books, frisbee golf and outdoor adventuring with friends and family. Wishing him the happiest of birthdays today!

Here are a few of the many 5 star reviews Jamie has received from his kindness and dedication to our patients:

“Jamie was very knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. This was my first time doing acupuncture treatment. Jamie was very patient and explained everything he was doing and why. This was very comforting for someone who had never had acupuncture treatment before and didn't know what to expect. The treatment was relatively painless and I got positive results.”-Bruce

“I have been working with Jamie 2x per week for the past couple of weeks. He is extremely attentive, understanding and thorough. I was nervous to start with acupuncture because of my herniated disc and fear of needles but he has made the experience feel very safe and comfortable. I’ve noticed a decrease in pain after suffering for over a year. Highly recommend!”-Michelle

“I have been seeing Jamie Holland for more than a year now and he is truly amazing. I work with my hands constantly and can honestly say he is the reason I can keep working without pain. Always great energy, great acupuncture and great cupping. He is incredibly detail oriented and has such a high level of compassion. Can’t recommend Lakewood Community Acupuncture enough!”-Jacob

“Jamie was fantastic- very knowledgeable and took his time explaining treatment to me. Highly recommend!”-Tobi

We offer both fire cupping and pump cups (pump cups shown in photo) at LCA. $40 for a stand alone cupping session or a $15 add-on fee to an acupuncture session. $55 total for acupuncture and cupping together.

Cupping stimulates the flow of energy (Qi) and blood, relieves muscle tension, breaks up adhesions, stretches fascia, improves circulation, and promotes cell repair. It is effective for many types of painful conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.

The herbal compresses at LCA are herbal formulas that are ground to a coarse powder and sewn into cloth pouches. The 6 different compresses are intended for different degrees and types of trauma and stagnation.

-Post-Trauma Soak-Compress is good after traumatic injuries as a steam soak

-Pain-Relieving Soak-Compress is appropriate if the pain is severe.

-Stasis-Dissipating Soak-Compress is suitable for post-trauma blood stasis (especially blood-stasis joint pain). All three of these are good for second-stage sinew damage.

The following 3 soak-compresses are appropriate for treatment of either third-stage sinew damage or old injuries. They can also be used to treat patients who have just had their cast removed and suffer from stiffness and aching.

-Eight Immortals Hardness-Dissipating Decoction can dissipate hard knots and relieve the aching and tightness that accompanies enduring or third-stage sinew damage.

-Joint Injury Soak-Compress is warming. It moves qi and blood, dispels wind and is especially effective for treatment of joint pain. While it is particularly suited for joints, this formula is best used on fleshy areas.

-Sinew-Penetrating Soak-Compress is a general formula for third stage trauma especially of the muscles and tendons.

How LCA was Born.

In the summer of 2016, the founders of Lakewood Community Acupuncture were on a backpacking and camping adventure with their dogs in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Sitting around the campfire at night, they decided they wanted to start a low cost acupuncture clinic together. They ventured even further to agree upon opening the very first Nonprofit acupuncture clinic in Colorado to give back to their communities. In June of 2016 the idea was born and in April 2017 their dreams came true and they were approved 501(c)3 nonprofit status with the IRS and state of Colorado. After almost two years in the making, Lakewood Community Acupunture officially opened their doors in June of 2018. Please come visit them at their clinic soon. www.lakewoodacupuncture.org
