It’s almost peel season! What does that mean?
Peel season is the time of year when people get chemical peels, typically from late October to April. Fall and winter are considered the best seasons for chemical peels because people tend to spend less time outdoors and are exposed to less UV light from the sun.
Chemical peels are non-surgical treatments that exfoliate the skin and can help with:
Acne, Hyperpigmentation, Texture irregularities, Fine lines and wrinkles, Scarring, and Sun damage.
Here are some reasons why fall and winter are ideal for chemical peels:
Less sun exposure: People tend to spend less time outdoors during the fall and winter, which reduces UV exposure to the skin. Chemical peels can make skin more sensitive to the sun, so it’s important to avoid sun exposure after treatment.
After summer: Fall is right after summer, which is when skin is most damaged by the sun.
Before winter: Winter can be too cold and dry for a chemical peel.
