These drugs (like Advil) were never intended to be used long-term. They are dangerous (for example Ibuprofen - that is "Advil" - can cause kidney damange over time). Here is one more way that they come back to haunt you: Long-term use of Ibuprofen will end up causing more inflammation and damage in osteoarthritis. Short-term use (sporadic/sparingly) is all they were ever intended for.
