We are so proud to support Jefferson County Colorado Government CMA as they host an informational gathering for families connected to the Family Support Services Program (FSSP).

Navigating support services is easier when we do it together. This event is designed to help families, past and present, build stronger networks and gain a clearer understanding of the enrollment process and available resources.

Our Therapeutic Rec team had an unforgettable weekend at the Special Olympics State Winter Games! It was an extra-special competition for DDRC this year—we were incredibly proud to have one of our very own athletes selected to lead the Athlete Oath during the Opening Ceremonies. 🎤✨

From leading the ceremony to celebrating on the podium with their hard-earned medals, our athletes showed exactly what it means to be brave, determined, and a team player!

Way to go, Team DDRC! 🏅💙

March 3rd was an exciting day at the State Capitol and at the IDD Awareness Day Luncheon!

Tributes and recognitions were given in both the State House and Senate chambers, the presenters’ words at the luncheon were deeply moving, and the nominees, finalists, and winners were all beaming to be part of such special recognition.

We were especially proud to have Rick Lovato there as a finalist for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year Award, and Ryan Monroe as a DSP of the Year nominee. They’re pictured here at the luncheon with other members of our DDRC team and DDRC Board.

Thank you, Rick, and Ryan, for all you do for DDRC—and congratulations to all the award nominees, finalists and winners recognized during the luncheon! ❤️🥂

We are beaming with pride today as we celebrate two team members who are transforming lives every day! ❤️

A huge congratulations goes out to Rick Lovato, a finalist for the 2026 IDD Awareness Day DSP of the Year Award! 🏆 With more than 35 years of heart and soul poured into our community, Rick’s inclusive athletics programs have created a space where everyone—regardless of ability—can experience success and pride.

We’re also celebrating the remarkable impact of Ryan Monroe, who was also nominated for DSP of the Year. Since joining us year and a half ago, Ryan has brought a fresh energy to Adult Vocational Services, leading everything from ranch visits to lake outings that promote health and connection. His leadership and creativity have truly shone, leading to his recent promotion to Program Manager.

DDRC is a better place because of the compassion and drive of people like Rick and Ryan!

Independence looks different for everyone, but the goal remains the same: living an autonomous, empowered life. Research shows that self-determination is directly linked to higher levels of happiness and community participation.

Our team at DDRC has put together a guide on building skills for success, covering everything from household management and travel training to financial literacy and self-advocacy.

Whether you're a caregiver, a family member, or a provider, these real-world activities are designed to support individuals as they reach for their goals.

Last week, we had a watch party to celebrate the 2026 Alliance’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year nominees. We lost power at the Walter’s facility, but made due and a good time was had by all! 🤩

This year our own Rick Lovato from Therapeutic Recreation is a finalist for Alliance’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year! Over the course of 35 years, Rick has dedicated himself to supporting individuals with IDD and, in doing so, has transformed not only individual lives but the broader community’s understanding of inclusion. The 2026 winner of this statewide honor will be announced during a luncheon on IDD Awareness Day at the Capitol on March 3rd. We also nominated Ryan Monroe from Adult Vocational Services. Ryan consistently demonstrates creativity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of the people he supports. Although he is not a finalist, he will be recognized at the luncheon. Congratulations to both Rick and Ryan, you are both DSPs of the year in our book! ❤️
