We are pleased to announce that we will be having once more a Tender Touch NBCOT exclusive by Tender Touch for Tender Touch employees only.

The review will take place both in Manila and Cebu from May 17th through May 26th for a total of 60 hours, much of it over the weekends.

Those who have already attended our previous reviews will have access to the new study guide we are in the process of creating, along with being able to attend a few select days that the reviewers will specify for repeats.

Much of the topics and study material for the review is being prepared by an OT professor of a local OT college in the US who is also one of the vice presidents of Tender Touch Rehab.
A strong emphasis of this review will be:

1. Focusing on current application of concept in the US. How is it practiced in the US.

2. Current trends of OT practice in the US such as laws (HIPAA, billing system, documentation)

3. topics that are not taught in the Philippines (such as drivers rehab, supervision)

4. practice exam: format of the exam, style of questions

5. time management. Efficiently maximizing your time on how and what to focus on when studying.

If you have not attended our previous reviews, please email me a confirmation that you will be able to attend.

We are strongly encouraging our employees to attend the review as the format of the exam, the material and topics are covered have been very challenging for many of the brightest and most prepared OTs.

Therefore, even if you do not live close to the review, we request that you make every effort to attend most of it, if not all.

Please respond as soon as possible as our reviewers need to make final arrangements to free their schedules and reserve their housing

OTs: Based on your school like Fatima, Univ. of Perpetual, you will be missing some courses. Rather than waiting for OTED to get back to you (and possibly missing their March deadline for completing your file), check with your college friends as to what they were missing. Courses are offered at Emilio Aguinaldo College: dysphagia, driver rehab and community mobility, diverse rehab in physical agent modality (PAM) and medicare. The course is 5 hours per course/subject per day. It is cheaper than taking some offered online with University of Florida.

OTED deadline: just spoke with NBCOT. They are STRONGLY recommending that all supporting documentations such as transcripts, course sylubi etc. should be in NBCOT's office no later than March 31, 2013.
As of July 31st if your application is NOT complete, your application will be discarded.

OTs: the TOEFL is no longer required for NBCOT/OTED. Although it is still listed on their website, they no longer require it. You do however, need to take the TOEFL in order to get the VCVC. You need the VCVC for H1B filing. So, if you are focusing on NBCOT, take that. it's more important to pass NBCOT as that has a deadline. You can take TOEFL anytime after that for VCVC purposes.
