This month, 70 Young Adult Patrollers from 11 regions across the Eastern Division gathered at Smugglers’ Notch for an intensive skills summit. From morning till night, participants tackled Outdoor Emergency Care, Assessment, Outdoor Emergency Transport, and leadership training to strengthen their technical capabilities and build confidence.

NSP x NARD is proud to announce the 2026 Avalanche Dog Grant Awardees - supporting 15 patrols with over $54,000 in funding to elevate avalanche dog programs nationwide.

These grants directly support training, certification, and care for avalanche dog teams who respond when every second matters. We’re grateful to North American Rescue Dogs (NARD) for their continued partnership and shared commitment to mountain safety.

Honoring our roots with the 10th Mountain Division.

National Ski Patrol instructors recently joined forces with the Colorado Army National Guard and 10th Mountain Division for a multi-day backcountry trek and Avalanche Level 1 training. This collaborative effort brought together pro and volunteer patrollers from coast to coast to celebrate our shared mountain legacy on the historic Hale to Vail route.
