The demands on ski patrollers are growing. With higher visitation, year-round programs, and more extreme weather, the expertise required to help keep guests safe is higher than ever.

In a recent interview with Colorado Public Radio, National Ski Patrol CEO Stephanie Cox discusses the reality of "doing more with less" and why building stronger partnerships with resorts is critical for the future of emergency care in outdoor environments.

The National Ski Patrol provides training for more than 30,000 members, 62 percent of whom are volunteers.
