As ski areas close for the season, we want to thank our 30,000+ members across the country for their service, skill, and dedication.

This winter, NSP members were on the front lines—saving lives, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the safety of millions of skiers and riders. From the Winter Park gondola evacuation to the rescue of Mikaela Shiffrin at Killington, patrollers showed courage and professionalism at every turn.

Thank you for another season of leadership, safety, and service on the mountain.

Since 1957, NSP has been training patrollers and search and rescue teams in avalanche safety—making us one of the most experienced avalanche education providers. NSP and the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division united for Operation Mountain Legacy, honoring their historic bond and the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Riva Ridge.
 
From Camp Hale to Vail, Ski Cooper, and other ski areas across the country, veterans, soldiers, and NSP leaders gathered for a week of training, remembrance, and camaraderie—celebrating the 10th’s enduring legacy and contribution to the sport of skiing.

Congratulations to the 12 ski patrols awarded grants from the 2025 NSP + Avalanche Dog Grant Program! With over $45,000 in funding, these grants support avy dog programs, strengthening mountain safety and rescue efforts.

NSP was proud to take part in Safety Fest at Copper Mountain! With 15 partner organizations, this event helped promote safe skiing and riding through interactive demos, avalanche dog meet-and-greets, toboggan races, and more.
