A nanny "watches" the baby; a Doula mentors the family. While we certainly handle the overnight feeds and diaper changes, our goal is to "work ourselves out of a job." We teach you about infant sleep, lactation, and soothing techniques so that when we leave, you feel like a pro. A nanny is an employee; a Doula is a specialist and an educator.

We have very different roles. Midwives are medical providers who deliver babies and monitor health. Doulas are non-medical. We don't perform exams or give medical advice. We provide the emotional, physical, and educational support that the medical system doesn't have the time to offer.

We are for every birth and every parenting style. Whether you are planning a scheduled C-section, an epidural, or a home birth, our job is to support your plan. In the postpartum world, that means we support you whether you are breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or a mix of both. We aren't there to push an agenda; we’re there to support yours.
