Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel Historical Snapshot The Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel was founded in 1977 by the late Howard B. Mission Statement Tradition is a gift to be cherished.

Belkoff, an individual known for his active involvement in the community. Then named Belkoff’s Jewish Memorial Chapel, the center opened its doors in the heart of Lakewood, NJ and has proudly remained in the same location throughout all its years of service. The chapel is the only Jewish funeral home in Ocean County that is still independently owned and operated. This despite conglomerates purchasing many local funeral homes; keeping the names intact but changing the personnel and then significantly raising the prices of services. In a commitment to client-centered care, our funeral home has kept the cost of its services at a reasonable low. Notable Staff The chapel’s roster of staff includes veteran Ocean County residents who are respected community members. Current funeral home owner Martin Goldstein initially partnered with Howard as director and later assumed full leadership of the chapel. Born in Lakewood and residing here for many years, Martin’s roots are set deep in Ocean County. Director Nesanel Rabenstein, fondly known as “Nate,” has been associated with the chapel since 1997. Nate has earned a reputation of patience and compassion as he meets with families, at their homes or at the chapel, to explore funeral options for loved ones. The Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel cherishes its tradition of directing Jewish funeral services with sensitivity, dignity, and personal attention to the community. From pre-need to at-need, our directors’ attentive presence offer solace and guidance as you navigate decisions and fulfill the wishes of your loved ones. Jewish funeral services are replete with traditions and nuances. As experienced professionals in this field, we have serviced traditional, unaffiliated, and interfaith Jewish families. Services are conducted at our funeral home, at your temple, or at the graveside. We also offer out-of-state and international transfers. Pre-need arrangements allow for future planning to ensure complete fulfillment of needs. Consultations and estimates are without obligation. Expedited services are also available. Our directors take pride in customizing services according to the desires of each family. Our full-service center is open year round, 24 hours a day, to accommodate your needs.
