Today is National Self-Care Day so slow down, check in with yourself, and do something that nourishes your mind, body, or spirit.

Self-care looks different for everyone. Whether it’s taking a walk, setting boundaries, or asking for help, it all counts. You matter. Take care of you.

Oscar winner. Activist. Trailblazer. At just 21, Marlee Matlin became the first deaf performer to win an Academy Award, and she’s spent every year since as an advocate for access, equity, and authentic representation in Hollywood.
Marlee’s story is a powerful reminder that accessibility is about action as much as inclusion.

In 1977, disabled activists made history and changed civil rights law forever.
More than 100 people with disabilities began a sit-in at a federal building in San Francisco. They were demanding that the government enforce Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the first federal law to protect the civil rights of disabled people.
The sit-in lasted 26 days, and together with a powerful coalition of activists, and support from groups like the Black Panthers and LGBTQ+ organizers, they won.
The 504 regulations were signed into law, laying the groundwork for the ADA and the modern disability rights movement.
Disability Pride has a history worth remembering!

Best known as Walter Jr. on Breaking Bad, RJ Mitte lives with cerebral palsy, just like his character. Instead of hiding his disability, he embraced it on-screen and off, using his platform to advocate for inclusion and authentic representation in media.

Today, he’s opening doors for other disabled actors and proving that disability is a strength, not a limitation.
