Good communication is not one-size-fits-all. Access matters, language matters, and everyone deserves to be met in ways that actually work for them.

We are also proud of the work being done by SustainAbility, a recycling company partnered with PPCH that helps divert valuable materials from landfills while creating meaningful work opportunities for individuals with disabilities. 🐝Respite Night is back at The Hive on Saturday, April 25 from 4:00–7:00 PM! It’s a structured, activity-filled evening for adults on the SLS and Comprehensive waiver, with trained Hive/PPCH staff providing personalized support.
Expect the good stuff: sports simulator, makerspace, A/V room, plus arts and crafts.

After saving and planning for a full year, Brandon and his Host Home provider, Karen, made a dream trip happen with a cruise to the Bahamas. Brandon made the most of every joyful moment, and he is already excited for the next cruise. At PPCH, Host Home providers do so much more than provide care. They help the individuals they support thrive, pursue big goals, and live fuller, more joyful lives.

What a special day! Our employment partners, Steamers Coffeeshop and are such wonderful advocates for diversity and inclusion!
This week they visited Vanderhoof Elementary with their coffee cart to offer the chance for their employees with developmental disabilities to work alongside students with developmental disabilities.
Students were able to see themselves represented in a workforce filled with opportunities, inclusion, and tons of fun!

Today is World Health Day! This year’s theme, “Together for health. Stand with science,” reminds us that better health starts with people coming together to care for one another. We are grateful for everyone at PPCH who helps make healthier, more supported lives possible each day.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Every child deserves to feel protected and valued. Foster care helps children in dangerous situations find safe, stable homes, and kinship care helps many children stay connected to family and familiarity during difficult times. We are incredibly proud of our PPCH foster families who help create brighter futures for the children who need it most.

What began with a conversation became something life-changing. When Rick and Lana heard Jordon’s story, they opened their hearts and their home in a new way, choosing to walk alongside him with love, consistency, and care.

Today, we are so happy to celebrate an incredible milestone: Jordon has officially been adopted!

Rick and Lana, thank you for saying yes, for showing up, and for creating the kind of home every young person deserves. We are honored to have walked beside your family on this journey.

According to the VA, more than 42,000 US veterans are currently eligible for treatment of spinal cord injuries. This April, we honor their strength, and raise awareness of the services and support that help promote the dignity and independence of our service members.
