Some absences are louder than words. 🤍🌅 Even when someone is no longer physically beside us, their presence lingers in the quiet spaces of our days. Like a soft echo carried by the wind, their memory stays close — steady, familiar, and deeply loved.

Sitting side by side, watching the sun sink beyond the trees, it’s easy to feel that ache. 🐻🫏 The kind that comes from missing a voice that once filled the silence, a laugh that once brightened ordinary moments. 🌤️

It’s not just the big memories we miss. It’s the little things — the way they said your name, the tiny habits no one else noticed, the simple comfort of knowing they were there. 💛

Grief has a quiet way of reminding us how meaningful someone was. To miss someone so deeply is proof that they mattered — that they left fingerprints on your heart. 🍂✨

Even though they are no longer here in the way they once were, they live on in your thoughts, in your stories, in the love that never fades. 🌿

And on days when the missing feels especially heavy, remember this: love doesn’t end. It changes form. It becomes memory, gratitude, and a soft warmth that stays with you always. 🤍🌅

I miss you. And I carry you with me. Always. 🌟 -

Great tips to help all of us become supporters of children's grief. Thank you, Kasey Griffin, CCLS.

In recognition of Children’s Grief Awareness Day, Kasey Griffin, MS, CCLS, a Child Life Specialist at Care Dimensions, wrote a Voices of Care blog reflection exploring the origin and purpose of Children’s Grief Awareness Month—why it matters to millions of young people and the adults who support them, and how we can better care for grieving children in our lives.

At Care Dimensions, our child life specialists offer compassionate, age-appropriate guidance to help children and teens understand loss, express their emotions, and build healthy coping skills. They also support families by explaining what children may be experiencing and providing tools to foster healing.

“When someone you love dies...
It changes your life forever.
It's not something you, “get over."
The loss now becomes a part of who you are.”

Empathy says I see you. It says I do not know your path, but I can tell it’s been tough. Empathy is creating space for someone else’s challenges in a way that leaves them feeling safe and warm and cared for. Empathy says we are of the same family, the human family, and your pain and your comfort matter.

Let me hold the door for you.
Let me carry your bags.
Sit here and rest a while.
Please, go in front of me.
Let me get you something to drink.
We don’t have to speak.
I don’t need to know your story.
I know you are human and that is enough.

Empathy says, after all your hardship let me lighten your load in some small way. May you never feel alone. We are a human family.
