Today is closing day for us. A hard day, for sure. But I want to take this time to say THANK YOU. Thank you for your support, your kindness, and your trust. In 2020, the beginning of COVID, God directed us to open a new business. We were hesitant, but obedient. God did miraculous things for us - true miracles!! As COVID progressed, we adapted to new regulations, vaccinating people from all over the eastern US, and even had TV interviews. (Certainly not in our comfort zone) The town of Lamar and surrounding areas continued to support us and the pandemic slowed as things started to return to "normal." Unfortunately, on the business side of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Business Managers (PBMs), used by insurance companies to pay pharmacies for the medications we dispense, have drastically reduced what we are paid. Sometimes paying us less than what we can buy the medications for. A business cannot sustain constant losses. We tried. I promise you, we tried everything we could to stay open. We do not want Lamar to be a pharmacy desert. We know there are so many people who count on us. There are those with no transportation, those with special needs, those who have no support system, and we are NEEDED. We never took that lightly. Our desire and mission is to be a light in the darkness, a hope for the hopeless, and an advocate for those without one. It hurts us that we can no longer provide that for you. But, you will always have a place in our hearts. We have no regrets and we are so grateful for the opportunities we had to get to know all of you. I want to leave you with a scripture: 3 John 2 "Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it GOES WELL WITH YOUR SOUL." We want you to in good health, but most importantly, we want it all to be well with your soul. We want you to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, to know that God loves you, and that you are here on this earth for a purpose.
As for Lamar Family Pharmacy, we pray our purpose was fulfilled these past 5 + years. We love you all dearly. Donna and Chandace will have new jobs - pray for the right door to open for them. And I, Michelle, will be at Olanta Pharmacy if you need me. Call me or stop by. I'd love to hear from you. (843-396-4431)
