Good Morning Everyone,

I wanted to share a project that the members of the American Legion Post 71 is organizing.

I have attached the form to this post.

The American Legion is planning to install white crosses in Fairmount Cemetery and Riverside Cemetery for all veterans.

The purpose of these crosses is to be able to easily identify a Veteran's grave that is not in the Veteran's Section at Fairmount Cemetery.

This will assist the volunteers in placing American Flags on Memorial Day and other appropriate occasions.

All crosses are free of charge to families but the American Legion needs permission to be able to install these. This is just the beginning of the process so it will take time to have the crosses made and installed.

You can print the attached form and fill out the necessary information and bring to Peacock Funeral Home and we can assist with getting the forms to the American Legion. You can also come by our office at 209 S. 4th Street to pick up a form to fill out. Forms are also available at the Lamar Community Building.
