We stand in solidarity with all people living with addiction and mental health struggles. These experiences do not define a person’s worth, nor do they diminish their humanity. Every individual deserves dignity, compassion, and the chance to heal.
We recognize that addiction and mental health are deeply connected, often overlapping in ways that make the journey more complex—but also more courageous. Recovery is not a straight line; it is a path of resilience, setbacks, and hope. No one should have to walk that path alone.
We commit to breaking stigma, challenging silence, and creating communities where people feel safe to seek help without fear of judgment. We affirm that healing is possible, that support is powerful, and that every person has the right to a future filled with possibility.
Together, we lift each other up—because recovery and wellness are stronger when they are shared.

Good evening, Barton County! We just wanted to say hello since starting our official page.

Now.

If you don't know what a Peer Support Specialist is, don't worry, we'll tell you.

A peer support specialist is a professional who uses their own lived experience with mental health, substance use, or other personal challenges to guide and support others on their recovery journey. Their work is rooted in empathy and mutual understanding, offering encouragement, hope, and practical strategies that come from having “been there” themselves. They help individuals set and achieve personal goals, develop coping skills, and navigate complex systems like healthcare, housing, and employment. Peer support specialists often lead support groups, provide one-on-one mentoring, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure care is person-centered and empowering. By modeling resilience and recovery, they reduce stigma, foster trust, and show that healing and growth are not only possible but sustainable.

With all this being said, we look forward to serving the community and helping it grow in healthy ways!
