If you’re an intuitive healer in the beauty world and don’t know where you fit in ā€œthe industryā€ anymore, thank God. You’re the leader we need.

Especially if you hold women. If you dwell in the mysterious waters of fascia and fluid and subtle body rhythms.

There is so much trauma in beauty. Women need you so badly.

Don’t be fooled though, when the algorithm doesn’t reward your deeper content, while your beauty tips go viral.

We’re told that people only want our ā€œtipsā€ and ā€œsecretsā€ of how to help them look better.

And yes, we can do that… in our f*cking sleep. But you probably want more.

I know I do.

There comes a time when we also want to inspire women to surrender. To relax the grip. To experience beauty practices as regulating and soul-connecting.

Listen…

I’ll never stop loving beauty. I’ll never stop getting a thrill at seeing the relief and peace wash over women as they recognize themselves in the mirror again.

I’ll never stop feeling the heart expansion that comes from helping women make empowered decisions about their bodies.

To witness them melt the blocks that are in the way of them expressing and experiencing themselves beautifully.

Yes it’s easier to decide to pick a side

ā€œI’m intuitive and I help women do the inner workā€

or

ā€œI’m a beauty sorceress and I can create transformative magic with my hands and guidanceā€

But ~ you don’t have to choose.

And WOMAN —THIS IS EDGE WORK. Don’t be afraid, people are hungry for it.

I know I am.

If you pick a side and deny the bigger calling you’re feeling deep down it’s going to keep coming for you.

Because this is the healing that’s needed.

Integrating the inner and outer beauty work.

I thought your nervous system might enjoy a some self-care ASMR and real-time touch.

This is how I prep my skin for facial Gua Sha.

Gua Sha is all about connection. This is my recipe for the perfect amount of slip for grip and glide. It helps the tool engage with your skin and the deeper layers without any force.

~ You always want to begin with clean, damp skin (oil is occlusive, not hydrating). I’m using the equilibrium mist by

~ a light oil (I’m using 100% vegetable derived squalene oil here)

~ a nourishing balm (it’s the secret sauce of a masterful Gua Sha sesh) again - I love all of the balms by and also just shea butter is wonderful for this

🌹Hope this was soothing ~ lmk in the comments

Your body is a map. A tapestry. An instrument and an ornament.

It’s emotional, physical, energetic. Your vehicle for expression and experience.

It’s elegant and intelligent. Strong, powerful, and resilient.

It’s your entire history and pure presence simultaneously.

It remembers everything, yet is so completely forgiving.

Your body.

It endures. It serves. It loves.

It’s hopelessly devoted to you.

This morning I woke up with remnants of grief, anger and sadness about something I had experienced when I was young that left a lasting reminder.

I felt myself re-living the memory and fantasizing about what could have gone differently and thinking ā€œhow can I fix this.ā€ I felt myself start to leave myself and anxiety begin to rise.

But then I paused and remembered gentleness. I remembered surrender and moving forward. I remembered devotion and self-love.

I remembered that we’re here to live, to make ā€œmistakes,ā€ to experience what is necessary for our soul’s growth and evolution.

šŸ¤ I hope you can feel that your body holds no resentment for you.

It’s your unconditionally loving partner.

Sharing some things that came up with clients lately ~

Lymphatic drainage and fluid dynamics within the body.

Gentle scar therapies and integrating vs ā€œbreaking upā€ tissue.

The complex relationship to beauty and the shift into a deeper relationship with it.

Anything you’d like me to go further into? I’m feeling drawn to share more on my approach with scars because it’s quite different from what you learn in massage school or read on the internet šŸ˜‰ lmk!

What I love deeply are beauty practices that work. Meaning they create visible restorative improvements. But what’s really draining to me is constant self-optimization and surveillance.

I just want to do what’s best, effective, sustainable. I can’t let my mind get consumed with every supplement, bio-hacky device, every type of retinol derivative or whatever.

Skin-care, body-care, and self-care is like a language I speak. I know what works for me and for my clients (everyone is different). And more importantly I can feel into what’s just adding excess noise and nervous system blow out.

You don’t have to be into everything or nothing. Sovereignty and discernment as to what’s best for you personally is absolute liberation.

Choose the best leave the rest.

What practices/products/tools/devices are you considering but aren’t sure if it’s right for you? What do you feel is a non-negotiable and has been totally life-changing that you wish everyone knew about? I’m curious.

Attunement, recalibration, momentum, repeat: How to get back on track when you’re feeling less than luminous

I’ve been thinking a lot about how my body feels when I’m really in the zone with my practices, and conversely how it shows me when I’m slipping off my game.

And it’s all okay, I don’t think that we as humans will ever really be able to fully and completely maintain perfect behavior, self-care, diet, nervous system regulation, sleep etc. It’s just not realistic or even the goal. Sounds a little rigid and boring for my taste.

This weekend I stayed out late for three nights in a row. I danced, I drank some alcohol, I was really social day and night. I was eating late-night and keeping strange hours. And truthfully that’s what I needed. I needed fun, I needed to blow off steam, I needed to see friends. My soul wanted to be out and with the people.

But there are only so many days I can do that before I start feeling less like myself. Less like the radiant glowing queen I aspire to embody.

Here’s how it sneaks up:

I start getting just a littttllleee cranky and short-fused. I start looking and feeling a bit puffy, less luminous. My body starts to feel a bit heavy and my clothes don’t glide or slip over my skin as comfortably.

So, I’m returning to my restorative practices and giving my body exactly what it’s craving and quietly asking for (before it starts yelling at me).

I’m focusing on water intake. Lots of fresh water and mineral drops, water rich veggies and fruits like cucumbers, melon, leafy greens, oranges and berries. I’m making sure to load up the protein too and earlier in the day (vs what I’ve been doing which is not eating enough during the day and then getting wayyy too hungry way too late).

I’m amping up my movement this week and making sure to prioritize my exercise as well and ample recovery. I know I feel like a flowing, graceful, pain-free gazelle with amazing posture and a long, elegant neck when I take a few minutes to softly foam roll my body and flush and hydrate my fascia. I only use a super soft foam roller by the way like the melt method.

And of course ~ minding tech neck and screen time. Doing some gentle facial massage, gua sha, exercises. Reducing things that crack out my nervous system like not getting enough alone time. I took a solo hike yesterday in the misty weather and I feel like it was the most rejuvenating thing I could have possibly offered my system.

This is really my process:

1- Tap into what my body and system are needing (attunement).

2- Do what needs to be done to recalibrate myself holistically.

3- build momentum in the right direction. Making it feel natural and joyful and like second nature. It feels good to feel good.

4- repeat. It’s an endless cycle of human-ness and self-devotion. You don’t ever need to be perfect. Let that go right now. Developing your body intuition will offer you so much more than ā€œperfectā€ behavior all the time ever could.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed this blog, from my heart to yours!

If you’re in a moment of recalibration too and wanting support, here are my favorite ways to help:

For years I kept my nails much shorter than they naturally wanted to be because I thought I had to for my work.

But now my restorative facial care practice has become so gentle and refined that my nails are back! And my hands and nails feel healthier, stronger, less sensitive and more resilient because of it.

Having some nail length is protective useful.

Last summer I dealt with a painful hangnail infection/abscess that completely changed how I care for my nails and cuticles. Since then, my approach has become very minimal, gentle, and low-touch.

Here’s what I do now:

• I rarely cut my nails. I mostly file them into the shape that feels most natural for my nail bed. For me, that’s a soft almond/oval shape. I’ve found nails are strongest and least prone to breakage in their most natural shape.

• I stopped using metal cuticle tools entirely. I gently push my cuticles back after a shower using my nails themselves.

• I don’t pick at my cuticles or clip too close to living tissue.

• I oil my nails and cuticles regularly and wear gloves while cleaning or cooking.

I also haven’t painted my nails in over a decade. I personally love a bare-naked nail, you?

I often hear this from my restorative facial clients,
ā€œwow that was different than our last session.ā€

It’s because I’m always sensing, feeling, watching, listening, and responding.

Following the energy, your tension patterns, your fluid movement.

Feeling for opportunities for deeper release.

I’ve never used the word ā€œbespokeā€ in my work because I can’t imagine working any other way.

I don’t have a treatment menu or a protocol.

Our session is guided by your body moment to moment.

I couldn’t give you the same session twice if I tried.
