As the owner and a speech-language pathologist, I am grateful to be part of a profession that helps individuals find their voice, build confidence, and connect with others. It is an honor to serve families alongside a compassionate team that shares the same commitment to making a difference.

Attended my 1st NLACRC Vendor Fair today and it was really nice meeting all of the service coordinators and new service coordinators in-person who I have been corresponding with over the past 8 months! Silence doesn’t always mean the same thing.
A late talker and a speech delay can look alike but understanding the difference helps us support our children better.

Watch closely.
Listen intentionally.
Notice how your child communicates through sounds, gestures, eye contact, or words. Those little details matter.

If something feels different, trust that instinct. Early support can make a meaningful difference.

5 simple ways to support speech and language development.

Talk every day
-Make conversation part of your routine. Describe what you’re doing, ask simple questions, and keep the interaction going.

Read together
Books build vocabulary and imagination. Point to pictures, name objects, and let your child turn the pages and explore.

Listen patiently
-Give them time to express themselves. Pause, wait, and show that what they say matters.

Use simple words
-Keep your language clear and easy to understand. This helps children process and learn words more effectively.

Make it fun
-Learning happens best through play. Sing songs, play games, and create joyful moments around communication.

Small moments, done consistently, create big progress. 💙

Communication is more than words. It is connection, patience, and the courage to keep trying.

As a speech language pathologist, I see every day that progress is not always loud or immediate. Sometimes it shows up in quiet attempts, small breakthroughs, and the steady effort to be understood.

To the parents walking this journey with their child, your patience, encouragement, and belief matter more than you know. Every try is a step forward, every sound is progress, and every moment of connection is a victory worth celebrating.

I will always advocate for spaces where every voice is heard, valued, and supported, no matter how it is expressed. 💙
