If often get asked what I do for movement since I closed the studio down. I still do what I did! I’ve enjoyed teaching my two morning HITT style classes at the gym, lifting weights, yoga, walking, and online programs. Below is one program I’ve been doing daily for the past four weeks. 🙂
As a teacher, the end of the school year is so busy and I wasn’t finding time to plan my workouts. Per FB algorithms, I kept getting ads for the Ladder app, so after a while, I did the free trial week and joined Team Define on the app which is a combination of Pilates, deep core work, and strength training. This app is mostly meant to do at the gym, unless you have the equipment needed at home. Team Define uses dumbbells only and I have heavy enough sets at home, although some days I’ll do it in the gym. I just finished week 4 and have been loving the workouts. There is a variety of teams you can join based on your goals with differentt types of strength training, as building muscle is so important as we age.
I love how this app holds you accountable. Your team’s trainer coaches you through your workouts ensuring correct form and motivation. You can also interact with your trainer if you have questions. I love the badges you can earn and the accountability of earning streaks. You can also cheer your team members on for more motivation and it’s fun to see when teammates cheer you on. If you have an Apple Watch, you can also sync the app to it.
