**Before I begin, I want to be clear that I am speaking from MY experience only**
Reiki is my my passion, purpose, mission, and souls work. This will be a long post- youve been warned lol!
Reiki, an ancient Japanese healing technique, has gained popularity as a holistic practice for stress reduction and energy balancing, and so much more!
If you're considering becoming a Reiki practitioner, selecting the right teacher is crucial to your journey. Here are some key aspects to consider when choosing a Reiki teacher and the 3 main questions you may want to ask:
Where did you get your certifications?
The origin of a teacher's certification can speak volumes about their training quality. Reputable and recognized institutions or mentors can add credibility to the teacher’s qualifications. Be sure to verify the credibility of the certifying body to ensure it meets recognized standards.
How long have you practiced? (This is a critical question)
Experience is a significant factor in teaching effectiveness! A teacher with extensive practice can offer deeper insights and guidance. They are likely to have encountered a wide range of scenarios and can provide practical advice based on real-world experience.
How many attunements have you done?
Knowing how many attunements a teacher has conducted can give you insight into their experience and expertise. A teacher who has performed numerous attunements is likely more seasoned and familiar with a variety of student needs and experiences.
In-Person vs. Online Reiki
I realize that I may get some backlash for this one. Again, let me reiterate that I am speaking from my own personal experience and nothing else.
While online Reiki certification is cheaper, it really is a gamble! There are a whole lot of Reiki Masters out there that do not walk their talk.
The absence of face-to-face interaction can lead to missed opportunities for immediate feedback and energy exchange. The quality of online courses can vary significantly, making it crucial to research the program and teacher thoroughly.
I am a staunch believer in in person Reiki for a variety of reasons.
Reiki training and Attunement should be a sacred, beautiful experience.
I have experienced both ends of the spectrum on this personally. My first attunement was in an environment where i was lined up with others and attuned all at the same time. It worked, but didnt feel as sacred as say my Reiki Master attunement in 2018. It was one on one in a sacred space, and was one of the most powerful momemts of my life. And THAT is the same experience I create for my students.
I have had no less than 5 students come to me for re-attunements this year. 2 were from a previous in person class with another teacher,
3 were from Reiki level 1 that they took online.
None of this students claimed to ever connect with the Reiki energy, and felt their knowledge was lacking. Every student I attune feels and connects to the Reiki. They leave with the information, knowledge, and practice along with their certificate that very day.
Now I would like to address online attunements
As a woman extremely sensitive to energy, and who had 17 separate attunements (I am a level 20 Reiki Grandmaster Teacher), I bought and paid for some online Reiki certifications because I was curious to see what the students who came to me may have experienced. The content was good, there was no hands on experience obviously. The attunement portion was lacking. I felt nothing. No difference, no energetic connection.
Now I know that some people may say “ that’s be because your a Grandmaster and that was only Level 1, or Level 2”. That is NOT it. I know when and can feel when someone tries to or comes into or connects with my energy. And honestly.. it didn’t happen.
I do understand that people may have had positive experiences with online certifications, if that is the case, that’s awesome!
The intent of this post is in no way meant to demean, belittle, or negate any online certifications. Only to answer a question honestly that has been asked of me numerous times.
**Please know that i am not trying to speak bash or speak negatively about any Reiki teacher or modality. I’ve had many stidents come to me with these questions, and felt guided to put my experience out there.**
As a Reiki teacher, a certified sould healer, meditation and breathwork instructor, etc, I have all of my certifications ready and available at all times and can show my certifications at a moments notice. My classes consist of detailed lecture and discussion, peraparation for attunement and what to expect, verification that the Reiki energy has passed, how to apply Reiki to your life, and a hands on instruction of how to do self treatments as well as client treatments. You recieve a cooy of my Reiki client release form, and I provide healthy soread of smacks to ground us after attunement. I even follow up with the first week after attunement, and am available to answer any questions you may have indefinitely.
I walk WITH my students through their Reiki journey as long as they want/ need me to. Reiki is a miraculous Energy and I treat it as such.
Of course it would be an honor if you chose me to be your Reiki Teacher! But if that is not the case, I hope this information helps you in choosing the teacher that is right for you, and hope you are blessed on your healing journey.
Reiki classes will start up again in February.
Namaste Beautiful Souls 🙏🏻
