"Better Vision for a Brighter Tomorrow" Dr. Hughes is a northwest Ohio native. Her curiosity and passion continued to grow.

In fourth grade, she became interested in optometry. Throughout high school and college, Dr. Hughes worked for a local practice as an optometric technician and office assistant. Dr. Hughes graduated summa cm laude in 2014 from Hiram College with a major in neuroscience & religious studies and minor in biology. She went onto complete her Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University College o

f Optometry; in 2018, she graduated cm laude. During her time at OSU, Dr. Hughes was a member of American Optometric Student Organization (AOSA), Beta Sigma Kappa (ΒΣΚ) honor society, Epsilon Psi Epsilon (ΕΨΕ) professional fraternity, and American Academy of Optometry student fellowship. She continues to be a member of the American Optometric Association and Ohio Optometric Association. Upon graduating, Dr. Hughes started Hughes Quality Eyecare in 2018. She practiced as an independent doctor at Walmart and Sam’s Club in Zanesville. In her free time, she filled in at a private practice located in South Zanesville. In November 2019, Dr. Hughes took the next steps to advance her optometric career by purchasing Dr. Robert Kreuter’s practice in Lancaster, Ohio. Dr. Hughes’ interests are ocular disease (such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy) and contact lenses. In her free-time, Dr. Hughes enjoys spending time with her family (Jesse-husband and puppy-Lacey), traveling, going to antique shows, and crafting.

🗓️ Holiday Hours Notice:
In observance of the holiday, our office will be CLOSED this Friday and Monday. We will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday.

If you have an immediate eye care emergency during this time, please proceed to the nearest emergency room, urgent care center or our specialists listed on our previous post.

Fun Facts About Our Office 👓

Our practice has been serving the Lancaster community since 1991, when Dr. Robert Kreuter first opened the doors on Sheridan Drive. What started as a small setup with one exam room has grown into a full-scope optometry practice focused on comprehensive eye care.

Over the years, the office has continued to evolve. A full optical with glasses and contact lenses was added early on, and services expanded to include the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. In 1997, the practice moved to a newly built location on Memorial Drive, designed to improve patient flow and overall experience.

In 2019, Dr. Hughes purchased the practice and began modernizing both the space and the technology. Since then, updates have included new diagnostic equipment, expanded frame selections, and a refreshed office design.

As the practice continued to grow, we officially moved into our current location on Kull Road in March 2024. The new space allows for more exam lanes, a private optical shopping experience, and the ability to care for even more patients. Now we are expanding to another (bigger) location behind us!

A little about Dr. Hughes—she knew she wanted to go into optometry as early as 4th grade. She graduated summa cm laude from Hiram College and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University. Her clinical interests include managing ocular diseases and fitting contact lenses.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come and grateful to continue serving our community.
