Wellness Wednesday — Tip of The Day
Did you know that walking backward has many benefits?
Yep! I typically recommend this to clients who deal with knee pain. ⬇️
Walking backwards (also known as “retro walking”) engages muscles that often aren’t worked when walking normally. This unfamiliar movement challenges your balance, improving stability and reducing the risk of falls.
Walking backward can increase range of motion in ankles, knees, & hips, improves cardiovascular health, and you can even burn up to 40% more calories than walking forward.
The best part?! This exercise can reduce back & knee pain, creating more blood circulation to the back of the knees. 🦵
