⚠️I realize everyone knows these tips and they are extremely obvious but for some reason even though we know that these are helpful we still don’t put them into action. And we wonder why we can’t stay consistent with anything. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So for anyone who is already struggling with consistency on their New Year’s resolution, here’s a quick reminder of ways to help you stay consistent.

I have never been more happy to see a year leave. 2023 was the hardest year ever. We very unexpectedly lost my Dad in April and to say I was a Daddy’s girl is an understatement. He was the best Dad to me and Grampy to my kids I could ever ask for. I will never understand why. It still seems impossible. He had so many plans in life, he had just bought a cabin in his “happy place” ⛰️ and was so excited create memories with his family who he loved so much. We have spent the last week at the cabin knowing this is where he would want to be. It’s where we rang in 2023 together. This year it’s just not the same without him. We miss you so incredibly much Dad and will hold onto our memories with you until we meet again. 💔

Here’s to new beginnings and a fresh start. One thing will never change, I am still pursing my dreams and goals because that is exactly what he would want me to do. So big things WILL happen this year!

First of all, this requires a permanent spot because this boy of mine is so freakin’ awesome 😎

I took this picture after we worked out together. As I tucked him into bed the night before, he asked if I would wake him up when I got up to workout because he wanted to workout with me! Let this be a message to you if you are a parent, THEY ARE WATCHING YOU! 👈🏼

As parents, we teach our kids so many lessons, let a healthy lifestyle be one of them. They see you working out and taking the time to care for your body. They know what healthy foods are because YOU eat them.
So make it your mission to teach them how to be healthy. Be the role model that your kids NEED so they can pass it on for future generations and ultimately make this world a healthier place! It may not seem like a big deal but it starts with you! All it takes is one person to shape their minds and learn healthier behaviors. 💪🏼

➡️Yes I did!

Do I feel bad about it??

➡️HECK NO!

You see, life is about enjoying the little things like this delicious brownie batter ice cream!

80% of the time, I challenge myself to make healthy choices and the other 20% of the time, I allow myself to splurge a little and enjoy some of my favorite things, like ice cream!

Just because you are on a fitness journey does NOT mean you have to give up your favorite things. I promised myself when I started this journey that I would allow myself to still fully enjoy ice cream without guilt because life is too short to worry about every little thing.

Have I still reached my goals?

➡️Yes I have

Do I still have work to do?
➡️Absolutely! But this is a marathon, not a sprint! And I have no deadlines, this is a LIFE LONG journey with no end, until I’m in my grave.

Here’s an upper body day for ya! Chest/triceps focused

All exercises should be done 4-5 rounds with 8-12 reps each! Challenge yourself with the heaviest weights you can do safely.

You cannot spot reduce any specific area of your body when it comes to fat loss. Period.

What you can do is strengthen your abdominal muscles for core stability and reduce your risk of back injury and overall improved posture. Training your core is important, but just doing crunches is not going to be enough to give you washboard abs….those are made from being in a calorie deficit and consistent good food choices 😉

Everyone’s number 1 excuse is lack of time…you have the time if you want it bad enough! 🙄

You have 30 minutes somewhere in your day and that’s all it takes to start seeing progress, 3-5x/week. In total that’s only 1.5-2.5 hours a week in the gym! You have the time, trust me! You just have to WANT IT!! 💪🏼

No matter how much I despise them, I still do them because I’ve seen the gains from doing them consistently. The gains are worth doing an exercise that isn’t my favorite. You won’t love every move, but that doesn’t make it any less important. DO IT ANYWAY!

So many people come to me because they want quick results. But the truth is, there is no quick fix. Even the “quick fixes” are not truly quick fixes because losing 40+ lbs in a month is not feasible and can be very dangerous. You risk putting yourself into a whole lot more health issues by going about fat loss the wrong way.

Growing up one of the things that always stuck with me, my parents would always remind me, “just do it right the first time” otherwise you end up having to go back and keep redoing something. This applies to fat loss too! If you use a fad diet to lose weight I can almost guarantee you that you will be back at it again in the future. Take your time and do it right!

✅Time each movement for 40 seconds and repeat 3-5 times.
