Have you heard the news? 👀
New Horizons Mental Health Services providers and clients are now part of the OhioGuidestone family!
We are so excited to grow our team and expand the care we provide to you. This new chapter means more resources and more support for everyone we serve. Starting April 30, 2026, you will see a new name on the door, but the heart of our care remains the same.

For our current clients, your services with us continue without interruption. You will still go to the same familiar locations and see the same dedicated providers you have come to trust. Our commitment to your well-being is stronger than ever.
By joining OhioGuidestone, we are bringing even more specialized programs to Lancaster. This includes new adult mobile crisis care, supported employment services, and expanded Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) teams for Fairfield and Perry Counties.
We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment as we begin this bright new future together.

Recognizing the signs of child abuse can be difficult, especially when a child is too scared or confused to speak up. However, certain physical, emotional, and behavioral changes can serve as warning signs.

Physical signs may include:

Unexplained bruises, burns, or fractures
Frequent injuries with weak or shifting explanations
Poor hygiene, malnutrition, or untreated medical issues

Emotional and behavioral signs include:

Sudden changes in behavior or school performance
Withdrawal from friends or activities
Fearfulness around certain adults or reluctance to go home
Aggression, anxiety, depression, or extreme mood swings
Inappropriate sexual behavior or knowledge for their age

These signs may not always mean abuse is happening, but when multiple indicators are present, it’s important to take them seriously and seek help. Early recognition can save a child from ongoing harm.

April is National Stress Awareness Month and you can begin small steps today that will help you de-stress your life.

Humans are social, although it can be scary, connecting with others is a helpful way to lower your stress.

Take small steps in connection: text one friend a day and build that into meet ups when you are ready.
