Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory Acquires Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster, Platteville, Potosi, Cassville and Bloomington: Two Experienced Funeral Professionals Take the Helm

After nearly two decades of dedicated service to local families, Tiffany A. Kramer, is proud to announce the official purchase of Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory —now joined in ownership by fellow licensed funeral director Joshua Grau. Together, they will usher in a new era under the name Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory, effective immediately.

The retiring owners of Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory, Terry Schwartz and Greg Martin, served the local communities for many years, acquiring and merging several locations to become Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory. Terry, a past president of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, has been a funeral director for 48 years and an owner since 1986, and Greg has been a funeral director for 34 years and an owner since 2001. As Lancaster natives, Terry and Greg are proud to have made many investments in the community, including the new Lancaster facility, which opened in 2016.

Kramer, a familiar and trusted presence at the funeral home since she was hired in August 2006, has served families with empathy and professionalism through nearly two decades of service in Grant County, Wisconsin. With deep roots in the communities served and a passion for helping others in their time of need, she is proud to carry on the funeral home's legacy while also introducing a renewed focus on personal, meaningful services. Grau, also a highly experienced and respected funeral director, brings additional expertise and a shared commitment to exceptional care.
“It has been a true privilege to support families during some of their most challenging times,” said Kramer. “Becoming the owner of these funeral homes is not merely a professional milestone—it represents the fulfillment of a lifelong calling.”

Kramer-Grau will uphold the tradition of dignity and compassion that our communities have long trusted, while also exploring new ways to care for and serve families. The name change to Kramer-Grau symbolizes both continuity and a renewed vision for the future. While our locations, dedicated staff, and core values remain the same, we are committed to expanding services to better address the evolving needs of the families we serve.

Kramer-Grau will continue to offer traditional burial and cremation services, grief support, and pre-planning options, all delivered with the same warmth and respect that families have come to expect.
“We both believe in putting families first, and we’re committed to providing support, comfort, and guidance when it’s needed most.”

As they step into this partnership, Kramer and Grau also extend their heartfelt gratitude to Terry and Carol Schwartz and Greg and Stacy Martin and their families, for their years of leadership and service. “We are incredibly thankful for the legacy they leave behind and wish them a joyful and well-deserved retirement.”
