Meet Aveanna patient Talon and his care team: Heather, Savannah, and Nikki! Nikki has the unique privilege of supporting her son while also doing what she loves most—providing compassionate nursing care.

"Having the ability to work as an LPN through Aveanna while caring for Talon is truly a meaningful opportunity," said Nikki. "It allows me to be present for every moment—from attending his appointments to being home with him when he’s not feeling well, and everything in between."

For nurses Heather and Savannah, Aveanna has given them the flexibility to pour into their own lives while also providing life-changing care to families right in their community. The stability and support they show for Talon has meant so much to Nikki on her son's care journey.

"Talon’s day shift nurses provide exceptional care, going above and beyond in ways they may not even realize," Nikki shared. "Not only do they care for one of my children, but they also give me the opportunity to simply be a mom to all three of my kids. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who has supported us and helped us get to where we are today."

Aveanna team members were in Harrisburg this week for the Pennsylvania Homecare Association Advocacy Day, joining advocates across the home care community—including patients, families, and frontline caregivers—to call for urgently needed Medicaid rate increases. These investments are essential to recruiting and retaining our workforce and ensuring continued access to high-quality, lifesaving care at home.
