One of the most common injectable questions we get: “What’s normal expectations for recovery after filler treatment?”
Save this post to remind yourself of what to expect.
Of course we are all different and expectations may vary based on area(s) treated, and volume used, so this is just a general guide.

Whether it’s lip filler, cheek filler, chin filler — or any treatment where we place injectable gel beneath the skin — the principles are the same.

✔️ Bruising and mild redness the first few days? Normal.
✔️ Swelling, minor asymmetry, tenderness the first 1-2 weeks? Normal.
✔️ Lumps and bumps that are palpable for 2-4 months? Also normal.
✔️ Feeling ≠ Looking: what feels obvious to you is usually invisible to everyone else.

Here’s why:
🔸 Integration happens in stages. Partial integration occurs in the first couple of weeks as filler begins to blend with the surrounding tissue.
🔸 Full integration — where you touch your face and can’t tell what’s filler and what’s your own tissue — takes longer. For structural areas like chin, cheeks, and nose, expect at least 4 weeks (and up to 6-8 weeks for complete, natural feel). The products used here have a denser molecular weight and are designed to mimic bone, so they settle more slowly.
