Applications are open for the 2026 Learn to Farm Classroom Mini-Grants! This program provides funding to support classroom project that enhance students' understanding of agriculture, farming and food systems.

This year, the SCFB Young Farmers and Ranchers are expanding the program to offer two $500 mini-grants per SC Farm Bureau district. That means we'll award eight mini-grants across the state!

Today we had the opportunity to celebrate North Elementary as the Grand Prize Winner for the MUSC Boeing Center for Children's Wellness School-Based Wellness Initiative! 🏆🎉

North Elementary’s Wellness Lead, Taylor Arma, accepted a $3,000 wellness award that will be reinvested into the school’s wellness initiatives to continue supporting the health and well-being of students and staff. 💵

In addition to North Elementary’s recognition, 19 schools across Lancaster County School District successfully met the requirements to earn wellness funding this year, resulting in a combined total of $22,500 being awarded districtwide to support school wellness efforts.

We are proud of all participating schools for making wellness a priority and helping create healthier school communities across Lancaster County! 💙🧡

The MUSC Boeing Center for Children’s Wellness School-Based Wellness Initiative is supported locally through a partnership with Clemson Extension as part of the Healthy Me Healthy SC initiative.

Clemson Extension is offering a FREE Diabetes Self-Management Support Program beginning in June with both online and in-person options available. Participants will gain practical tools for managing diabetes, connect with community resources, and receive encouragement through peer support.

Palmetto Free Clinic is hosting a Health Fair on May 12 from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM at 410 Oakland Avenue in Rockhill, SC

• Free blood pressure screenings
• Free glucose readings
• Information on becoming a clinic patient
• Giveaways and prizes while supplies last

Residents of Lancaster County without health insurance are welcome to attend and learn more about available services.
A free goody bag will be provided on a first come, first served basis to those receiving a glucose test or blood pressure screening.
