I’d like to introduce you all to these beauties Alicia and Janelle. Seven months ago Alicia was in a horrible car accident which then lead to being diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and Alicia being wheelchair bound. The doctors were telling them this is her new normal and her Mom, Janelle, fought for her and got her to a facility that was able to further her rehabilitation. She picked up and temporarily moved out of state to in Arkansas. Spending months focusing on rehabbing her Central Nervous System- helping her body heal from within. And here we are today 7 months later, 3 months out of her wheelchair and she completed her first Pilates class!!

I can only imagine the hardships they faced along the way. I truly believe there is nothing stronger than a momma bear’s fight for their child. Janelle, you are amazing.

Alicia, you are an inspiration and a gift to this world. It was my pleasure to have you in class today and move with you!!! I can’t wait to see where this life and those legs take you!! You are unstoppable!!♥️

Back in January I had hosted a few classes dedicated to raising funds for The Lighthouse. An organization near and dear to my heart.

The Lighthouse is a domestic violence shelter but their services extend beyond just the shelter, their advocates will assist you in the courtroom and throughout your whole process. Their services are free of charge and completely confidential.

For me personally they helped me to obtain a 5 year protection order against my abuser. They made it possible that I had legal representation throughout the whole process- but most importantly they supported me. I worked with them through the municipal courts and civil courts during that year long process. I walked in to their office on a day I couldn't take anymore and didn't know where to turn and they walked beside me until the case was finished and settled.

The Lighthouse, the advocates, helped me realize that while I was a victim, I wasn't powerless.
Something I'll always be grateful for and never forget.

As a non-profit organization fundraising and financial donations are essential to their work within the community so the next time you're feeling charitable, maybe just take a moment and consider The Lighthouse. ♥️
