Mental Health in the Black Community in Carlisle, PA this past Saturday was more than just an event, it was a movement! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

Shout out to Deputy Mayor of Carlisle Safronia Perry for being the brainchild and coordinating the monumental event, and for inviting me to be a panelist! 🫡

Furthermore, Safronia- Thank you for your leadership in making the event successful including inviting Mayor Sean Schultz of Carlisle, PA, who introduced Luray Schlegel Co-Responder for Carlisle Borough, our esteemed keynote speaker Stephen Sharp who spoke about Teen Su***de, our dynamic panelists who spoke openly and passionately about the mental health challenges as well as triumphs we all experience in this thing called life, our 4 ethnic restaurant vendors who served us delicious food for our souls, our soothing self care bags, our beloved friends, family, and guests who came out to participate, and finally all of the amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event a huge success! ❤️🖤💚

From the bottom of my heart I say Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️

Let’s continue to do the work and support each other along the way… and if we get tired, we must rest, but never quit! 👊🏾

Last night was nothing short of Amazing!

Honored and Privileged to have attended Touchstone Foundation’s Mental Health Awards Reception, where my Supervisee/Fellow Mrs. Brandee Jason was recognized for completing her clinical supervision licensure hours!

In addition, I’m pleased to announce that I have been awarded a renewal Grant by Touchstone Foundation to take on a new Fellow Mrs. Kimberly Romero, as well as a returning Fellow Mr. Jeremy Nesmith!

I’m so grateful for this opportunity to invest into the Mental Health Provider Pipeline, by providing clinical supervision to clinicians who will become Licensed Clinicians and give back to children and families in need of counseling services in Lancaster, PA!

Today 10-10-24 is World Mental Health Day 💚!

This year’s theme for World Mental Health Day, “It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace.” offers an important reminder that mental health in the workplace is a fundamental right for all people.

Acknowledging the state of one’s mental health issues is important, and so is being able to seek help when you’re struggling.

In honor of this day, I’d like to introduce you to my team of counselors who can play a crucial role in assisting those who may be struggling with their mental health.
