Building independence, one ramp at a time!

We’re proud to help open doors, literally and figuratively, so you can enjoy your home to the fullest.

That’s why our Ramp & Accessibility Program provides free home modifications for eligible Fairfield County residents with mobility disabilities.

From wheelchair ramps to half-steps and handrails, we’re here to help make everyday access easier and safer.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dave, a cherished member of the FCI family.

Dave dedicated many years to FCI as a former ADS Manager, long-time ADS volunteer, and committed Board member. His dedication, generosity, and steady presence left a lasting impact on our organization and all who had the privilege of working with him.

More than a volunteer, Dave was a friend, mentor, and valued part of our community. His contributions helped shape FCI, and he will be deeply missed.
We are grateful for all he gave over the years and will carry his legacy forward in the work we continue to do.

Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.

We were honored to welcome the Lancaster Police Department into FCI today! 💙

We enjoyed learning more about safety, community, and the positive role officers play in helping and supporting others. Visits like these help build trust, connection, and understanding within our community.

At Fairfield Center for Independence, supporting the whole person is at the heart of what we do, and that includes mental health.

Every day, we prioritize the emotional well-being of those we serve, creating spaces where individuals feel supported, understood, and empowered. During Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re proud to shine an even brighter light on the importance of caring for our minds as well as our bodies.

Whether it’s through connection, community inclusion, or compassionate support, we are committed to helping individuals thrive every single day.
