🔊 Why Prevention Matters
Child sexual abuse (CSA) is not just a moment in time—it’s a trauma that can echo across a lifetime.

Mental health struggles. Physical health issues. Broken trust. Survivors carry wounds that aren’t always visible—but they are real.

📽️ In this short video clip, Becky Clark Mays, Executive Director of Safe Communities, explores the long-term impact of CSA—and why prevention is so much more than stopping abuse in the moment. It’s about stopping a life-altering trauma before it begins.

💬 “The pain doesn’t end when the abuse stops. The body and brain remember.”

This clip is part of our free on-demand workshop, Keeping Your Kids Safe: Child Sexual Abuse Prevention 101, available 24/7 at safecommunitiespa.org.

💙 Disclosure is powerful. It can also be difficult and deeply personal. For many survivors, reporting to law enforcement is a complex decision—one that comes with emotions, challenges, and uncertainties.

If you’re considering reporting, knowing your options can help you feel more prepared. RAINN provides a step-by-step guide on how to report sexual violence, what to expect, and how to seek support throughout the process.
You are not alone. Your story matters. And no matter what you decide, you deserve support.
