A lot of things are in fact, more effective at preventing pregnancy complications than baby aspirin. 🥰

According to a 2022 meta-analysis published in BJOG, the estimated impact of calcium (a 52% decrease in relative risk for women with low baseline calcium intake) is much greater than that of aspirin (a 17% decrease in relative risk for any pre-eclampsia in women at increased pre-eclampsia risk based on clinical factors, or a 62% decrease in preterm pre-eclampsia for women at high risk identified through multivariable first-trimester screening).

And it is estimated the 50% of women are not meeting the RDA for calcium.

Yesterday we had a full day of postpartum visits and one stop at MFM for a client who needed a scan and diagnostic evaluation.

At the 1st visit we had a 6 week visit with a baby girl who was wearing the same onesie as my baby, but in the color pink. We didn’t even plan it!

We did a repeat PKU with another baby who was less than thrilled about it, but thriving in all other regards!

Checked on a few tears that needed to be followed up with. Everyone is healing wonderfully, even the second degree tears without sutures.

Last stop was a first time mom who has become a dear friend over our journey together. She had her boy 12 days after I had my baby. My baby was present on the couch during their birth like he is in the photo 💕

3 of the ladies we saw are friends.

2 of them are sisters.

All of the ladies are related to at least 2 other families we’ve also worked with.

The Amish tell their friends and families who to hire and word spreads quickly in the community. They keep us busy! 💫
