Protect your little ones this winter!! RSV is most common from October through April. A preventive antibody is available to protect our littlest children from severe RSV illness.
- Newborns: recommended within one week of birth.
- Expectant Mothers: During RSV season at their OB may receive an antibody between 32-36 weeks gestation and greater than 14 days prior to delivery for antibodies to be passed from mother to baby.
- Infants > 8 months of age who are at increased risk for RSV during their second RSV season may qualify for the immunization, so talk to your doctor.
- Infants < 8 months of age and newborns may begin scheduling nurse visits as early as October 1st!
