Today 5 inmates graduated from Smart Recovery. A program that focuses on healthy choices and beating addiction. We recognize addiction is a horrible thing that not only affects the individual, but family and friends. Many times, the person suffering is left alone to fend for themselves. Often times they end up in jail. We applaud the efforts of the inmates who take the opportunity to get better while in custody. The Sheriff’s Department has been very fortunate to partner with Three Bridges Recovery since 2019. They have been facilitating Smart Recovery.

Fairfield County has seen roughly a 22% decrease in overdose deaths in our community in the past year. Narcan (Naloxone) is a proven lifesaving medication that reverses opioid overdoses in minutes, allowing someone the opportunity to get help and pursue recovery. Carrying Narcan is an act of compassion. Stop by the Health Department’s Lancaster Office Monday through Friday anytime 8am-4pm to pick up a kit of your own.
If you or someone you know is struggling, we can help! Call Landon, our community health worker, at (740) 652-7815.
