❤️ Caring for the Heart God Gave You

Our hearts are more than physical organs — they are gifts from God that sustain our lives each day. Scripture reminds us that our bodies are temples, and caring for them is one way we honor Him. When we practice healthy habits, we are being good stewards of the life and strength He has entrusted to us.

Faith-Centered Heart Health Reminders:
• Move your body — staying active strengthens the heart God designed to sustain you.
• Nourish yourself wisely — choosing balanced foods supports the body He calls good.
• Release stress in prayer — placing worries in God’s hands brings peace to both mind and heart.
• Know your health numbers — awareness allows us to act with wisdom and prevent illness.
• Rest well — trusting God enough to rest renews both body and spirit.

Taking small steps today can protect your health for years to come. Caring for your heart allows you to continue serving, loving, and fulfilling God’s purpose in your life.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” — Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)💙

As we focus our attention of the awareness and hopeful prevention of Human Trafficking this month, below is some important tips:

• KEY WORD IN THIS INFORMATION: GROOMING. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Grooming: A deliberate, calculated process used by traffickers to gain a person’s trust, dependency, and control—so they can exploit them later.

*TIPS FOR PARENTS, TEACHERS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS*

1. Be informed and proactive. Learn normal developmental behaviors versus red flags that could signal grooming or control. Regular conversations about online safety, healthy relationships, and autonomy can create open communication lines with young people.

2. Watch for sudden changes. Pay attention when behavior, friendships, or routines shift significantly without clear explanation. Questions delivered in a non-judgmental way can open dialogue if something feels “off.”

3. Know the environments where grooming can happen. Online platforms, social media, gaming spaces, and even community settings where adults interact with children should be monitored. Encourage children to talk about who they’re interacting with.

4. Respond safely and report. If you suspect trafficking or exploitation, do not try to intervene directly. Contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or text HELP to 233733; trained responders can assist with next steps and connect victims with services. Local law enforcement can also be engaged if there is immediate danger.

It starts with you...Your business, your church, your organization can take a stand against human and s*x trafficking through education and awareness.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and awareness can lead to prevention. When communities understand what trafficking really looks like, they are better equipped to protect vulnerable individuals and respond safely when concerns arise. Human and s*x trafficking is a crisis worth fighting for. Schedule a 30-minute education session with Refuge for Women Kentucky for some time in 2026. Make it a Lunch & Learn session or simply gather a group together for a quick Human Trafficking 101 discussion.

Human and s*x trafficking is a crisis worth fighting for. Thank you for helping spread the word in Kentucky.
