MRI, CT and X-ray are all considered medical imaging exams, while there are some similarities, here is one of the ways they differ.
While all three imaging tools can be used to help with the diagnosis of one or more medical conditions, some take longer to complete than others. You can have both x-rays and CT scans completed within minutes, but MRIs can take 30 minutes or longer — up to a couple of hours — depending on what the doctor is looking for.

The first African American radiologist - Dr. William E. Allen Jr. 👏
Dr. Allen achieved many titles throughout his life including a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, Chairman of the radiology section in the National Medical Association, Gold Medalists of the American College of Radiology and many more. Among these titles, he was the first of his race to achieve those standings.
He made considerable advances in shaping radiology as a science and profession and worked tirelessly to increase access to education for other African Americans. We are proud to honor him during Black History Month.
