Today we had a great time training Schuyler County Road & Bridge and a County Commissioner on CPR and choking response! 🙌
They got hands-on practice for adults, children, and infants, learning skills that can truly save lives.

🚑💙 Training Week Complete! 💙🚑

The Schuyler County Ambulance District team completed annual advanced skills training this week, focusing on Drug Assisted Airway (DAA), Emergency Surgical Cricothyrotomy, and Finger Thoracostomy. These critical procedures enhance our ability to manage high-acuity, life-threatening emergencies in the field.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Andrew Mericle (MU) for providing expert instruction, and to our Medical Director, Dr. Stilley, for his continued leadership and commitment to clinical excellence.

Ongoing education and preparedness remain essential to delivering high-quality emergency medical care to our community. 💙🚑

🚑 Training Day at Schuyler County Ambulance District! 🚑

Our team received hands-on training today from Jason Jonas with ZOLL on our new AutoPulse NXT — a life-saving device used during cardiac arrest emergencies.

The AutoPulse NXT provides high-quality, uninterrupted chest compressions, which are one of the most important factors in improving survival for patients experiencing cardiac arrest. Unlike manual CPR, this device delivers consistent, effective compressions without fatigue, ensuring every patient receives the same high standard of care — no matter the rescuer’s physical endurance, the number of personnel on scene, or the challenges of transport.

This technology allows our crews to focus on other critical treatments while maintaining continuous, reliable CPR. Most importantly, it helps us give our community the best possible chance of survival in life-threatening situations.

🚑📚 Training Day for Our Team!

A group our dedicated team members from Schuyler County Ambulance District participated in a full-day GEMS (Geriatric Education for EMS) training today.

This specialized education helps our providers better understand and care for the unique needs of older adults in emergency situations. From medical considerations to communication strategies, our crew continues to build the skills needed to serve our community with compassion, professionalism, and excellence.

We’re proud of our team’s commitment to ongoing education and high-quality patient care! 💙
