Last week, our team at Schuyler County Ambulance District participated in SALT 🚦Triage training to enhance our preparedness for large-scale and high-stress emergency situations.

This training focuses on effective patient assessment and prioritization during mass casualty incidents, ensuring we can provide the best possible care when it matters most.

We are committed to continuous training and improvement so we can better serve and protect our community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Andrew Mericle (MU) for providing expert instruction, and to our Medical Director, Dr. Stilley, for his continued leadership and commitment to clinical excellence.

Ongoing education and preparedness remain essential to delivering high-quality emergency medical care to our community. 💙🚑

🚨🌪️ Statewide Tornado Drill – Today at 11:00 AM 🌪️🚨

Good morning, Schuyler County!

Today at 11:00 AM, communities across Missouri — including right here at home — will participate in the Statewide Tornado Drill.

If you hear the sirens this morning, don’t be alarmed. This is only a test. It’s an opportunity for our families, schools, businesses, and emergency responders to practice what we would do during severe weather.

🔊 A Quick Reminder About Sirens
What many people call “tornado sirens” are actually Outdoor Warning Sirens. They are designed to alert people who are outdoors to seek shelter.
They are not meant to wake you up or be your only warning inside your home.

📱📻 Make sure your household has multiple ways to receive weather alerts:
• NOAA Weather Radio
• Local weather apps
• TV or radio broadcasts

🌩️ Know the Difference: Watch vs. Warning

🟡 Tornado Watch – Conditions are favorable. Stay alert and be prepared.
🔴 Tornado Warning – A tornado has been detected or reported. Seek shelter immediately.

Today is a great time to:
✔️ Review your family’s severe weather plan
✔️ Identify your safe shelter area
✔️ Check weather alert settings on your phone
✔️ Talk with your kids about what to do

At Schuyler County Ambulance District, your safety is our priority. Prepared communities are safer communities — and drills like today help protect all of us.

Stay safe, stay prepared, Schuyler County. 💛
