Does walking or standing make your legs feel heavy, weak, or painful?

It could be spinal stenosis.
Spinal stenosis happens when the spaces around the nerves in your spine become smaller. That pressure can cause:
- Low back pain
- Leg pain or cramping
- Numbness or tingling
- Weakness when walking
- Pain that improves when sitting or leaning forward

Many people are told it's "just aging," but that doesn't mean you have to live with it.
At Antelope Valley Disc Center, we focus on gentle, non-surgical treatments designed to reduce pressure on the spine and help patients move better naturally.

If daily activities are becoming harder because of back or leg pain, it may be time to find out what's really causing it.

Spinal degeneration doesn't usually happen overnight.

It often progresses slowly over years through different phases.
As discs lose hydration and height, the body begins placing more stress on the joints, ligaments, and surrounding nerves.

Over time, this can contribute to:
- Chronic neck or back pain
- Disc bulges or herniations
- Sciatica
- Numbness or tingling
- Decreases mobility
- Weakness in the arms or legs

The good news?
Catching these problems early may help slow progression and improve function before things become more severe.

That's why we focus on finding the cause of the problem - not just covering up symptoms.

One of the hardest parts of severe back pain is losing your independence.

This patient had low back pain shooting down the leg with weakness so severe she felt like she couldn't walk without support.

Her imaging showed significant degenerative changes in the lumbar spine, including disc degeneration and narrowing from L1-L5. That kind of pressure on the nerves can lead to pain, numbness, weakness, and instability in th elegs.

After a course of spinal decompression, she was able to walk, stand, cook, and do household chores again without pain or weakness.

Sometimes the biggest wins are the everyday things people get back.

He couldn't play golf because of the pain.

This patient had been dealing with neck pain and numbness traveling down his left arm into his hand for over 2 years. Even simple movements were difficult, and the nerve pain made it impossible to enjoy the activities he loves.

Imaging showed multiple cervical disc bulges from C4-C6. When discs in the neck bulge, they can put pressure on nearby nerves - causing pain, tingling, or numbness down the arm.

With cervical spinal decompression, the goal was to gently reduce that pressure and improve function.

Now he's back on the course, playing without pain.

Cervical spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment for neck pain, herniated discs, and pinched nerves.

Using the DRX9000, we apply a gentle, controlled stretch to the cervical spine to help reduce pressure on discs and nerves.

This can improve mobility and help relieve symptoms like headaches, stiffness, and radiating arm pain.

If you've been dealing with chronic neck pain in Lancaster, Palmdale, or the Antelope Valley, there may be options beyond medication or surgery.

After a focused plan using non-surgical spinal decompression, everything started to change.
Now? She's able to go through her day with little to no pain, and do the everyday things she couldn't before.

Sciatica can make even simple things feel impossible.

They described it as "traveling down the leg and being achy, sharp, stabbing, throbbing and numb." They had been experiencing this pain for 2 years!

After starting care, we focused on reducing pressure on the nerve and improving movement.
