Immersive Sound Flow with Vanessa
Fridays | 6pm-7pm

A 60-minute group experience designed as an invitation to arrive, soften, and unwind at the end of the week.

We begin with a gentle check-in and a brief mindfulness practice to support settling into the space. From there, the session moves into 45 minutes of immersive sound, followed by a closing debrief for reflection and integration (only if you feel drawn to participate).

You are always free to engage in the way that feels right for your body and nervous system. You may listen, rest, observe, or simply be. There is no expectation to do anything at any point in the session.

Each experience is unique. The sound meets each person differently, while the group offers a shared field of presence and support.

To support comfort and choice, seating options are available: zero gravity chairs, yoga mats, and standard chairs are all provided.

All levels are welcome. You are invited to come exactly as you are.

There will be select Fridays in April and May when this offering is not held, as Vanessa is either teaching or immersed in advanced gong training with some of her favorite teachers. 🤎

Before the space opens, there is a quiet unfolding.

Jason arrives early, as he always does. He first tends to the space with an energetic clearing, caring for the atmosphere that will hold everyone who enters. Then he sits down and begins to meditate. Nothing dramatic. Nothing rushed. Just breath meeting breath. Stillness gathering him back to himself.

In that quiet, he holds each person who will arrive in his awareness, in intention, in care, before they even walk through the door. This is part of how he arrives in the space, every time, before class begins.

Around him, the room is not yet full. It is becoming. And in that becoming, there is a simple ritual of tending. A preparation that is less about doing and more about being with what is already here.

Rituals like this aren’t about perfection or performance. They’re about creating a bridge, from the outside world into something more present, more attuned. Research shows that simple, repeated rituals can help regulate the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and support a deeper sense of safety and focus.

We each have our own ways of preparing and of listening inward before we hold space for others. These small, intentional acts can become anchors, something steady to return to, especially in a fast-moving world.

There are little pockets of stillness tucked into my office…spaces that seem to exhale the moment you step into them.

One corner holds the sandtray, lined with tiny figures, each one a doorway, a language beyond words. A place where stories can unfold gently, at their own pace.

Another space hums more quietly…instruments resting, a table prepared for sound and therapeutic touch for trauma recovery. Here, the body is invited into a different kind of listening.

Because trauma doesn’t only live in our thoughts.
It lives in the body…in the sensory world.

In the way certain sounds linger.
In the pull to brace or withdraw from touch.
In the nervous system’s quiet, constant scanning for what feels safe.

And so our work honors that language, too.

Through sand, through sound, through gentle, attuned presence…through noticing what feels supportive and what doesn’t. Always at your pace. Always with choice.

It is such an honor to walk alongside those who enter these spaces at Meadow Grove. To witness what begins to shift when the body is given room to soften, or simply to be as it is.

And to share space with our community at Embodied Wisdom…where restoration unfolds in connection, in rhythm, in collective care.

Both spaces hold something sacred.
Both have their place.

And it warms my heart more than words can fully hold.

October 29–31, come as you are to our Harvesting Stillness & Vitality Retreat in Akron, PA, created to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. Together, we’ll gather in person in a space designed for rest, renewal, and reconnection, where sound, movement, breath, and presence are woven into a rhythm that supports your nervous system and honors your own pacing.

Move gently, listen to sound, reflect in journaling, and simply be in the company of others who, like you, give so much. Participation in any offering is entirely your choice, an open invitation to follow what feels right in the moment. This is a space for connection, ease, and community.
