A Statement from our Superintendent, Dr. David Uhl:

On Saturday and Sunday, our College Ave. area experienced significant flash flooding. While our parking lots flooded, no water reached our buildings. Losses were minimal and we are operating normally. Our hearts go out to those in our area who experienced devastating damage and loss, including FIDO, State Farm, The Lancaster Festival, Harcum House, Kroger, Fairfield Medical Center, and those throughout Fairfield County who were impacted and displaced by the floods. We are thankful for the quick and comprehensive response of so many, including our city and county officials, first responders, Fairfield County EMA, the Fairfield County Engineer’s office.

Join us on Tuesday, July 29, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Sycamore Plaza Library for a powerful performance by Cody Clark, a magician who uses his talents to share his journey with autism. Through a unique blend of comedy, storytelling, and magic, this performance is not only entertaining but also a moving look at what living with autism is like for Cody.

It's Ohio Service Dog Awareness Week! 🦮

We're celebrating the incredible service dogs who support Ohioans with disabilities, including children, adults, and Veterans.

It's important to remember that not all working dogs are the same! Let's break it down:

☑️ Service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks for people with disabilities, like guiding, alerting to seizures, retrieving items, and more.
🐾 Emotional support dogs (and other animals!) provide comfort but aren't task-trained.
🐶 Therapy dogs offer group emotional support in places like hospitals or schools.

When you see a service dog:

❌ Don't pet or distract them.
❌ Don't offer food or treats.
❌ Don't assume a resting dog is "off duty!"
✅ Always talk to the handler, not the dog.
✅ Keep your own dog at a distance.

Service dogs are life-changing assistive partners, not pets. Respecting them helps ensure access and disability-inclusion for all.
