Mona and Holly are proudly showing off the new CritiCare T-shirts that each of our amazing nurses will be receiving as a token of our appreciation. These shirts are a small way to say thank you for the outstanding care and dedication they show to our clients every day.

To illustrate the soaring ideas of this year’s nurses’ week theme, Helen D’Souza designed an original piece of art. D’Souza states, “Above the night sky, the Northern Lights appear, dance and show their magnificence during 24 hours of darkness in winter, symbolizing the nurse who shines in times of darkness.” The egg symbolizes potential. “It looks fragile, yet is one of the strongest structures in nature,” D’Souza added. “The cracked egg displays our imperfections, but that’s how the light gets in.”

Mona and Janelle spent Wednesday at the LCCTC Willow Street Job Fair chatting with the nursing students about career opportunities in home healthcare. We had a drawing for a bag full of CritiCare goodies and Grace, a level one student won it. It was a great day and lots of connections were made!

I was able to participate in a "fireside chat" hosted by Bayada's advocacy group Hearts for Homecare. Families were invited to share their stories and we invited to speak on behalf of our nurses. Representative Nikki Rivera (pictured with me) and Representative Bryan Cutler attended, as well as staff members from Representative Mentzer and one other staff member for a representative who's name I didn't catch. WGAL had a crew there to highlight our important advocacy work. I am always happy to be included in these important discussions!
