On my goodness. I really need a webmaster. I can’t remember when I updated content here or on my webpage.

So much going on. I can backtrack later but will share the following. Two very successful workplace mediations completed. The individuals were all females, two different organizations yet very aligned in their mission to serve Veterans and active duty Military personal. Multiple issues- respect, effective communication, creating personal and professional boundaries, etc. It always warms my heart ♥️ when the fear that enters our virtual space is transformed to laughter and verbal expressions of admiration and respect.

I woke up to an acknowledgement from a colleague who us a (Ret.) LA Deputy City Attorney. She took mediation training 15 years ago. It was she who recommended mediation as an option to LA Veteran's Collaborative. To receive a beautiful note of thanks from her brought a smile to my face.

Today I was given the gift of kind warms. A community voluntary mediator from 15 years ago connected with me on LinkedIn. She shared the following: “Renata, This is a POTENT message one that you must reread twice to really appreciate. One of my most surprising and potentially "impossible" mediation assignments, a civil court referral, was held at the Foothill Sheriff's station. They gave us their break room. After the parties opening statements, I could feel that the two couples were about to explode so I let them communicate as they would normally do. Of course, in my world I would describe this as yelling. I let them go back and forth at each other for about 5 minutes. Did it make me uncomfortable? YES, it did. At one point one of the Deputies peeked in to "get coffee", smiled and said, "Everything all right in here?" I cheerfully said, "Oh yes." And it was. I will never forget my training from you. You taught me and everyone else in my class, that this wonderful process called Mediation didn’t belong to us. The process belonged to those in need of our services. More so, we had to learn to step outside of our own comfort zones and meet people where they were. I saw your post and had to let you know your training continues to have such a profound impact on my own practice. I will never forget the skills and lessons learned under your instruction.”

Proud to be an Los Angeles County Probation Facilitator. It is a gift to be able to facilitate conversations with our youth and their parents. True gift is to be able to receive an invite to their prom. Thank you Avis Ridley-Thomas, Jill Frank, Prom night at DK is Thursday July 25. The kids go through full hair and make up, and they look divine. And they have a good time. Many are missing their regular prom on the outside- or- they would not 'qualify' to go to the prom even if they were back in their regular lives- so the event is really special. Young people getting to be young people. Special thanks to Candace for collecting and donating and driving to Commerce for gowns and accoutrements. Thank you Roseanne for collecting items for donation! Thanks Jill for gathering gowns from LAPD Olympic Division. Thank you to the officers at Dorothy Kirby for putting the prom together. It expands all of our souls, helping to create this much needed happy, hopeful day for the youth.

Karen,
Thank you so much for allowing me to create space for such a dynamic workshop on Effective Communication in Resolving Conflict. Handled effectively, conflict can actually contribute to stronger, deeper relationships. Effective communication skills serve a key role in successfully resolving conflict in the workplace. I appreciate you allowing me to share your testimonial.

“Renata,
I wanted to let you know how much we all appreciated your time and insights. Thank you so much for the training. The feedback I've heard from participants is very positive.

It's clear you have great skill in facilitating these types of programs, as the blend of instruction with active participation was spot on. I know that our managers benefited from this experience and will use the information to more effectively communicate with their teams. I look forward to working with you in the future.”
