What smokers say vs. THE TRUTH ABOUT SMOKING Part 1.
“I’ll quit when I get sick.”
Yes, seriously I’ve had so many smokers tell me that was their mindset that I seriously want to create a mini headstone with that statement to hand out as swag at gatherings – maybe in the form of a stress squishy!
Because by the time you get sick…it’s BAD, really BAD! So that is some really harmful and twisted self talk.
🚭 1. Physical Dangers
a. Damage to the Lungs
• Smoking destroys the tiny air sacs and airways in the lungs.
• Leads to chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
• Strongly linked to lung cancer — smoking causes about 85–90% of lung cancer deaths.
b. Cardiovascular Harm
• Ni****ne and carbon monoxide strain the heart and blood vessels.
• Increases blood pressure, causes artery hardening (atherosclerosis), and raises risk of heart attack, stroke, and blood clots.
c. Cancer Risks Beyond the Lungs
• Smoking is a cause of at least 15 types of cancer, including:
o Mouth, throat, voice box, and esophagus
o Pancreas, stomach, bladder, cervix, colon
o Acute myeloid leukemia
d. Premature Aging & Poor Healing
• Reduces oxygen flow to skin → wrinkles and dull complexion.
• Slows healing after surgery or injury due to poor circulation.
🧠Smokers say, “I use smoking to destress!”
Oh really? C’mon! What broken media hype created that belief? NI****NE (notice it ends in INE which is the code for UPPER as in INCREASES stress, physically and emotionally)
2. Mental & Emotional Impact
• Ni****ne temporarily boosts dopamine, giving a false sense of calm (OH AND IS IT POSSIBLE THAT BREATHING BOOSTS DOPAMINE??)— but this fades quickly, causing anxiety, irritability, and cravings.
• Creates a cycle of dependence that often worsens stress rather than relieves it.
• Smokers have a higher risk of depression and cognitive decline later in life.
