Here's today's tip: buy yourself flowers just because you need a little color after such a dreary winter. Dance to your favorite song just because you kinda can't stay still when you hear it. Call that old friend that popped into your head just because you remembered your shenanigans from your younger years. Read that book that's been on your bedside table for months just because you want a good thriller or mushy romance. Do the things that bring you joy!

Psst- here's an extra tip: receiving a massage on a flannel sheets with a beagle snoring softly nearby can be very cozy too.🤭
Happy Friday, friends!

One of our greatest honors as care providers is holding space for folks during their massages/adjustments. We have heard a lot of stories over the years. It is not unusual for our clients to express sadness or frustration. And it can be difficult not to absorb those feelings.

At a training session at church this week, I learned a lovely grounding technique. When one is feeling anxious or upset, a person can hold their hands over their heart, close their eyes, and envision someone that makes them feel safe. The reaction was pretty remarkable. I felt my heart rate slow and a sense of warmth infuse me.

So, my friends, this Valentine’s Day isn’t about chocolate hearts or bouquets of flowers. Instead Dave and I wish one thing for you. May you have that kind of person in your life- a safe space who warms your heart. May it be a partner, a best friend, a family member or a beloved pet.

(How about this watercolor of us?! Thanks to Maria Tomesetti who did a pop up at Proof.)

This photo is from Dry Tortugas National Park, one of our stops during our recent FL trip. It is one of the most remote NP's- accessible only by sea plane or a 2.5 hour boat ride. It was quite the adventure as the waves lifted our catamaran into the air! (Ask Dr. Dave if his wrist bands were effective vs sea sickness.🤭) We are thankful to scratch another park off our poster though.
It looks like we may have quite the adventure here in Lancaster Sunday into Monday with a major snowstorm brewing. Grab your milk, eggs, a good library book and your woolies! Dr. Dave has some available appointments tomorrow if you want to reschedule your Monday appointment. And we will be here Wednesday if you need a tune up post shoveling!

Because we are the consummate professionals...🤭

Just a reminder that we are heading to Key West on Thursday to see the wild chickens, nesting turtles and to cross Dry Tortugas off our National Park list. (And to do the dreaded 8K!)
The office will be closed January 16, 19, and 21. We will see folks on Thursday, 1/22 and Friday, 1/23. If you need a tune up or massage before this Thursday, give us a ring. (We promise to act normally- well as normally as we ever do!)

A huge shout out to BR and TR for all the great recommendations for Key West.

This pic kind of summarizes the post Christmas vibe- a bit wiped, but so content. As we head into 2026, Dr. Dave and I declare this Irish blessing over y'all:
May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full Moon on a dark night, and the road downhill all the way to your door.

And remember- we are here on Prince to ease you into the New Year with specific adjustments and targeted bodywork.

Sunday is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. After that date, our days gradually become lighter. I don’t know about you, but to me light is a strong indicator of hope. Seeing the sunlight bounce off this star by our front window made my heart feel all sparkly inside!
Just a few notes about our office schedule next week:
Christmas Eve we will close at 3pm.
12/26 we are closed.
12/29 Dr. Dave will see clients until 1pm.
New Year’s Eve we will close at 3pm as well.
January 2 back to regular hours!

We do offer gift certificates if you need an idea for a special someone in your life. (I think I can even do email versions now- I am fancy like that!)

And dear friends, May your holiday season be one of light and hope! We appreciate you.♥️

Can you even believe it is December 10?! I am getting the w***y worms as I realize the number of items on my lists to be checked off. I found this on FB and thought it was a great prompt. (And have done none of them!😆) But, it is key to make time to re-center and recalibrate. I have started knitting again and trying to manage my time online. Do you have any rituals to quiet yourself?

Three years ago we did a thing- running a turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning. Now Dave and I are gearing up for an 8K in January that we will run in Key West. Ok, friends, we need all the tips you've got for senior runners. Our goal is to wog (walk/jog) without injury. We are used to ambling the city streets with a recalcitrant beagle, but we need to step up our game. Any thoughts? And please know all prayers are appreciated!😊

Happy Halloween, friends! May you receive full sized candy bars and lots of Reese's peanut butter cups (and no fun sized Mounds bars.) Do they even still make them anymore?!
Cheer on the Blue Jays in the World Series since we have a Pennsylvania boy pitching for them. And don't forget to "fall back" Saturday night. 😊

This pic is more than a little dorky. That hat doesn’t even really fit, but it did match my sundress pretty perfectly. My expression is goofy and I can see all my wrinkles. But my eyes are sparkling with joy. It embodies this quote by the German poet Samuel Ullman, “Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.”

My main request for my continued 60th birthday celebration was to be together with our kids and Jade for a few days. So, the office will be closed Friday, October 10 as we meet up in Michigan to kayak and hang together. I do not know the last time my lovies have all slept in the same house!! Squeal! I am embracing my enthusiasm- wrinkles and all!💗 May y’all do the same.

Whew- what a whirlwind! We saw parades (just happened to be here during Edinburgh’s 900th birthday!), heard bagpipes, and ate incredible Indian food. Scotland has a vibe all its own- straightforward with a side of snark. We so appreciate the Scots’ hospitality and pride of their heritage.
But we are ready to be back on Prince Street to see y’all and to snuggle our beagle girl. (Plus I am really craving a strong cup of good coffee.😉) As you can see, Dr. Dave cannot resist adjusting any spine he sees.
