January motivation is real.
So is February reality.
Every January, people feel hopeful. More energy. Better digestion. Less pain. Maybe weight loss too.
And then life shows up. Stress ramps back up. Old habits return. Schedules fill up.
Here’s the part that often gets missed.
Most people do not struggle because they lack motivation.
They struggle because their bodies are still under stress.
Fatigue, poor sleep, hormone shifts, digestion issues, cravings, and nervous system overload quietly drive behavior, whether we want them to or not.
That is why I am often asked,
“Does acupuncture help with weight loss?”
The honest answer is yes, indirectly.
Acupuncture does not force weight loss or override biology. It supports the systems that influence weight in the first place. Digestion. Nervous system regulation. Hormones. Inflammation. Sleep. Energy. Cravings.
When those systems calm down, the body can actually respond.
This perspective is not just professional. It is personal.
Between trauma, chronic stress, and now perimenopause, I have seen firsthand how weight gain can be a logical biological response, not a personal failure.
What is different now?
Support instead of extremes.
No crash diets.
No punishment.
No white knuckling willpower.
Just working with the body instead of fighting it.
I wrote a deeper blog post about this, including cravings, perimenopause, why extremes backfire, and what real support actually looks like.
If you have ever felt like your body “won’t cooperate,” this one is for you.

Progress does not come from doing more.
It comes from creating the conditions where your body can finally exhale.
Here’s to a sustainable, supported 2026!
