Fremont County Road to Recovery

Fremont County Road to Recovery This year's Relay for Life of Fremont County will be held in Lander, Wyoming. Please join us by registering @ www.relayforlife.org/fremontwy.

Fremont County Road to Recovery was established in 2018 to address a crucial need in cancer care: providing transportation assistance for cancer patients who need to get to and from their treatments. Our amazing volunteers will coordinate this event to Celebrate our Survivors, Remember those we've lost, and Fight Back to Finish the Fight so that noone will ever have to hear the words "You have Cancer".

đź’™ January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month đź’™

Join us in raising awareness by wearing teal this January to support those affected by cervical cancer and to honor survivors.

✨ Cervical Cancer Facts:
• Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers with regular screening.
• Routine Pap tests and HPV testing can detect changes early—before cancer develops.
• Early detection greatly increases treatment success and survival rates.

Talk with your healthcare provider about screenings and prevention, and encourage the women in your life to do the same. Together, awareness saves lives. đź’™

We’re celebrating a long-awaited victory in the fight against cancer! Today, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling that will help reduce the cancer burden nationwide by protecting affordable access to lifesaving preventive services, including cancer screening and to***co cessation.

“We are pleased that today the Supreme Court upheld the provision of the Affordable Care Act that requires most private insurers cover evidence-based lifesaving preventive care services without cost sharing,” says ACS CAN President Lisa Lacasse. “Research has shown that any out-of-pocket costs can be a deterrent to accessing proven cancer screening and to***co cessation, which can be the difference between life and death.”

ACS CAN led 32 partner organizations in applauding the Court’s decision. Read the full statement: https://www.fightcancer.org/releases/more-30-patient-and-medical-professional-organizations-respond-us-supreme-court-decision

The Wyoming Department of Health is proud to offer free home radon test kits, while supplies last. Test kits are available for purchase at a discounted rate for Wyoming residents if the free test kits have run out.

To request a kit or to learn more about radon, visit health.wyo.gov/radon

Radon is a radioactive gas that doesn’t have a color, odor, or taste. Radon seeps up from the earth into the air we breathe, and comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in almost all soil.
