Today we wrapped up the camp and our heart goes out to these kids who will be returning to a war torn and uncertain country next week. The realization that these teens have experienced the disruption of Covid and then just a few years later a war in their country is sobering. They have no sense of “normal” teenage years. Many are returning to cities that have been ravaged by bombs and some are uncertain where they will be in the coming months as the war goes on. All of the kids this week have either a missing father or brother, or perhaps they know their father/brother was killed. The heartache goes on. Today’s the kid “Put the Pieces” of their life story together by creating a representation of the events that have happened, their values, and things/people that are important on a puzzle. We used art to facilitate story telling and then each child had the opportunity to share about what they created. Here are a few of the puzzles see captions for descriptions
