NARIC is a library and information center funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). We serve to connect researchers, rehabilitation professionals, administrators, educators, and people with disabilities to the research and resources they need to be fully successful in their endeavors. The contents of NARIC's website and original information products were developed under a contract from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (contract ). NIDILRR is a Center within the Administration for Community Living (ACL), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Jeanne Zanca, PhD, co-investigator for the NIDILRR-funded Northern New Jersey Spinal Cord Injury System Center, received the 2025 Dr. Margaret Nosek Award from the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. The award recognizes an individual who demonstrates drive and commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, developing standards of clinical practice, raising awareness, and advocating for appropriate health care and community support for women with disabilities. The award honors the memory and career of Dr. Nosek, who was a highly respected NIDILRR investigator.

The Importance of Paid Work to Promote Vocational Engagement explores why paid work is vital for people with IDD.
