There are 3 things I learned about myself through Breathwork. I have had the incredible opportunity to spend this last year training to become a certified Breathwork facilitator. There is so much that I learned that I can't wait to share with you, but at the heart of my experience I walked away with 3 major realizations.
1. Stress is not my natural state. You know when the AC is running and you don't notice the sound until it turns off? I didn't realize how much stress was running through me until it started to fall away.
2. I don't need any special skill to connect to my body. I learned that I don't have to master meditation, or fix all my trauma to be able to sit comfortably in my own body. Breathwork taught me how to listen patiently to the stories my body has to tell, and to connect in the way that's right for me today.
3. Doing deep, transformative work within a supportive group is amazing! I am always the one who groans when a facilitator says "partner up". My social anxiety spikes my heart rate, and my palms get sweaty. But, what I have learned is that if I could get past that layer and deepen into the feeling of being in a heart-centered group of people, my capacity to grow and heal increased exponentially. (I have discovered the physiological/ biological reason for this from the scientific point of view, which I will share in the workshop!)
My prayer is that every one who needs help with their stress levels, is feeling adrift or like they're facing impossible challenges, anyone who feels disconnected from their body or like they need something and just don't know what...my prayer is that everyone who could benefit from doing Breathwork finds their way into these workshops.
